badminton · 61-69, MVIP
Yes. I live in San Francisco, so lots of very good Chinese food.
sally1981 · 41-45, F
@badminton I am the same some is good and some is terrible.Sally😩
meggie · F
A chinese man I know told me that it depends on where the Chinese came from as to what type of Chinese food you get. He said the Chinese that went to Australia and set up restaurants may be from a different part of China to those who set up restaurants in the UK for instance. I think this could be true as I've eaten it in other countries and it can be quite varied.
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@meggie Most of the Chinese Restaurants in the UK serve food based on Cantonese Cuisine 🙂🐼🥢
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@Dlrannie They are mostly Cantonese in the U.S. as well.

Dlrannie · 31-35, F
Yep especially my Mums cooking 🙂🐼🥢
Yes the sichuan (szechuan) foods are my favorite imo.

@Dlrannie they asked about Chinese food. Not Chinese cuisine.

But what’s more important is you’re saying I’ve been lied to????
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@MrEagle As I said they are not Chinese. In case you aren’t aware Rangoon was the capital of Burma - now Myanmar so that is potentially where they might come from.
MrEagle · 41-45, M
@Dlrannie ok. Thanks.
exexec · 70-79, C
Yes, some of it
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Love it, though I'm sure whatever we have is actually Americanized, not traditional China-version.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@ChipmunkErnie I know an American who, years ago, spent several years in China with a friend, teaching English.

When they flew back home, they landed in San Francisco. They went straight to Chinatown, to see how the food would taste compared to what they had been eating in China.

They said the food in San Francisco was actually better. And the reason is that restaurants in the US use higher quality ingredients than what the typical Chinese family is able to obtain.
val70 · 51-55
No, sorry. I don't like eating too much meat either. I'm just weird
Mary1 · 51-55, F
Everybody likes Chinese food .
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@Mary1 My father did not.

He is the only person I know who asked the server at a Chinese restaurant for dinner rolls!
Lilymoon · F
@Mary1 Wrong
Mary1 · 51-55, F
Yes, I love Chinese food, I don't have it very often .
MrBarnsley · 46-50, M
@Mary1 me neither
MsMiley · 31-35, F
In my family I basically had to 🤷🏻‍♀️
Lilymoon · F
No 🤷‍♀️
MrEagle · 41-45, M
@Lilymoon what????

Not even egg rolls? Wonton soup? Crab Rangoon?
Lilymoon · F
@MrEagle no. no. no. 🤭
akindheart · 61-69, F
cashew chicken is my fav
windinhishair · 61-69, M
Yes, very much. My daughter-in-law is from Chengdu and we have the most wonderful spicy Szechuan food as a result. I have grown some of the special peppers and other vegetables for her so she can make it fresh.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M

It’s alright
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
Here in Los Angeles we're lucky to have a whole valley full of amazing authentic Chinese restaurants. All different styles. They are the best quality vs price ratio out there!
Like Chinese Women,,
Winston335 · 56-60, M
Yes , and Chinese women too
@WonderGirl
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Yes, though we don;t get it as often as we used to. Last time we ordered Chinese take-out it was almost $100 for the three of us.
meggie · F
Oh yeah. Sweet and sour pork, beef in black bean sauce, crispy chilli beef, noodles and bean sprouts and lemon chicken are the best.

it's okay. rather get Japanese
Yes.

I'd like it better if the price reflected how long one feels as though one has eaten...
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
No idea if I like actual Chinese food, but I love the Americanized version they sell around here.
originnone · 61-69, M
Yes, and I love the smell. The grease has something in it that's addictive.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I love it.

But the boom in "shopping mall Chinese restaurants" and all-you-can-eat buffets has produced a lot of mediocre versions of this cuisine.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@DrWatson It started with Americanized Chinese food , but now it's really gone one more step into mediocrity. I like going to China town for Chinese.
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
Its a lot of deep frying and chicken that I don't think is actually chicken
ElRengo · 70-79, M
Yes.
I also cook a certain variety from it.
Ducky · 31-35, F
I do! Fried rice, lo mein, potstickers, etc.
Yes.
Manapua Factory in Honolulu,
BoBo's in Summerville Mass,
Mandarin Palace - I'm not sure it's really Chinese, but I do like it.
Mary1 · 51-55, F
Yes I do like Chinese food .
Jungleman · M
not particularly.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
I do and cook it frequently
Only a few dishes.
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Sure but I like Viet and Thai better.
BeJeweled · 61-69, F
Yes especially Chinese buffets!😋
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
