Of course a man can open a door for a woman, a child, a disabled person... I was at the grocery store a couple of years ago, when an older gentleman noticed that I had only a couple of items at checkout and the Express lane was closed. He gallantly motioned me to go ahead of him, as he had a half full cart. The clerk noticed this, smiled widely and said to me, "You see, chivalry is NOT dead."

I dont think so. I can't see a counter culture that is trying to stop stuff like that.

I hope so. But, i hope the reverse as well. If my hands are full and a woman is at the door, I hope she would open the door for me.

@samueltyler2 Of course, because it is just common courtesy.

pretty common here in the rural south; holding door open for someone is just as typical and thoughtless as breathing...
I can only recollect one instance where a woman complained when I held door open for her, I only remember because she was still screeching like a lunatic five minutes later. Everyone else inside could barely contain their laughter (much to her dismay...)
noticed plates on her Mercedes as I was leaving... California, go figure...🤔

chivalry has changed maybe, but it is not dead.

Not if the lady in question is courteous.

No point in it any more.
The world has changed and we should all mind our business.

Chivalry is alive in me, which is far more than I can say for many others.

@Harmony we'll let bygones be bygones and seal with a kiss and a slap on the bottom.

@basilfawlty89 huh?
caesar7 · 61-69, M
I still do.....I believe in the gesture as I am old fashion that way.
Maybe tis just the climate deniers who do not open the door, so you should look beyond that group?
Harmony · 31-35
@BlueGreenGrey I am a climate denier
@Harmony well then ...
