Of course a man can open a door for a woman, a child, a disabled person... I was at the grocery store a couple of years ago, when an older gentleman noticed that I had only a couple of items at checkout and the Express lane was closed. He gallantly motioned me to go ahead of him, as he had a half full cart. The clerk noticed this, smiled widely and said to me, "You see, chivalry is NOT dead."
