My sister and I have always been close, even though there's eight years between us. We have no other family, I don't know if that makes a difference.

My (half) brother is a lot younger than me. I been in care most of my life when he was born.
I was always angry and jealous he never got put into care despite mum's continued chaotic life and more than anything that he had a dad that stayed and cared.
However as an adult he's taught me way more than I ever taught him. He helped me try to get a relationship with mum. He cared for mum a lot before she died. He also made sure his dad became my step dad.
He made me the proudest auntie ever.
I love him now how I never thought I would.

Never knew my sisters. They died in infancy, My brother was 9 years older than me, so we didn't have much of a childhood together. He was very supportive during my adolescent years though. Not that much interaction later in life, given he lived in Tokyo most of that time. What interaction we had was cordial, focused on things we shared in common and family history, accepting that our political and social views of the world were quite different since he grew up in the Silent Generation and I in the 60's. I actually became sort of a surrogate father to his children -- even gave his daughter away in marriage -- because he was estranged from them. He is no longer with us.

I have one brother. He is very sick, but I love him and try to help him when I can and while he's still with us.
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
I have a half brother and half sister I admire, but they "love me but they don't like me". I'm like the defective child. My half sis did help me get to my surgeries when I had cancer, but she won't text me back if I ask how she is. They're 11 and 9 years older than me with a different Mom. They very obviously like to keep their distance from me.

I'm the only child
I always wished I had a brother or sister
Worse to find out that I would have had elder of both but my mum had a miscarriage before me and lost twins
I'm always jealous of those who have siblings and someone to look out for them as I was majority of the time alone

My sister hasn't spoken to me in three years now. My brother and I see each other very rarely because we live very far away and 18 years apart in age.

I have two half sisters who are a lot older than me. I’ve always gotten along well with them and I enjoy being an uncle to their kids. ☺
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
I'm the oldest of four. My middle brother and I get along okay. Don't really have anything to do with my sister or my youngest brother.
hunkalove · 70-79, M
I haven't talked to my sister in ten years and my brother in almost 40 years. I don't know if they are still alive. Not a happy family.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
I'm the youngest and Black sheep in the family, with the next youngest 16 years older than me. It's up to any of them. 2006 was the last time I even spoke to the next youngest. I know the eldest is long passed away, through a Death certificate I saw on ancestry.com.

We don't talk, we're estranged

Thats what happens when you were raised in a dysfunctional home.🤷🏼♀

We get along well, if a little distant. She's always ready to help but likes her privacy.

My older sister and I got along fine, even though we tried to drive each other crazy when kids. Good friends as adults.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
My late brother and I got along really good. Growing up he was my hero.
PinkMoon · 26-30, F
There's a 5 year old difference between my older sister and I and we looooooove each other. I would die for her in a heartbeat.

Excellent, would be my answer! I have two sisters, one a year younger than myself and one a year older than me which of course means... duh... I'm the middle child, which could also mean that I'm a year older than my younger sister and a year younger than my elder sister just for clarity to fellow Canadians in the studio audience. Yes, I know how you think, but no, I won't break it down any further for you intellectual hosers!
Since our early youth, my sisters and I have all gotten along exceptionally well in our little Scandinavian household in rural Ontario Canada. As kids, we were taught old Scandinavian culture, traditions and liberal open-mindedness while simultaneously receiving our home-schooled sex education at the kitchen table every night for about 7 years straight, being taught by our mom using her old high school sex ed manuals which she was issued when she attended high school in Norway and Sweden.
My sisters and I looked like identical triplets during the first 15 years of our lives and we did everything together, even socializing and dating guys together in our teen years, but we didn't dress the same. That's where I drew the line!
My eldest sister is very introverted whereas I am very extroverted and my youngest sister pretends to be extroverted when I'm around, but is happy being introverted when I'm not around!
Because of this difference in our personalities, I took on the responsibility of teaching my siblings how to 'date' guys in our teen years because neither one of them had any clue of how to go about doing this, though we all wanted the same thing! That social interaction with others comes easy for me and always has and so I passed on what I knew about social protocol to my sisters and quite frankly, I still do to this day when we all go on mini-vacations together!

not well, if you put my sister in a room with 9 deadbeats and 1 descent dude... she'd ignore the descent guy and date the deadbeats one after another...
