Common courtesy, politeness, and looking out for your neighbour. There were positive advances in social empathy when we were "all in this together" which sadly dissipated the moment "things got back to normal".

Working from home is now a permanent thing at many companies.

Parking spaces reserved for “curbside pickup” have not gone away. I still see them in many parking lots.

Grocery prices are higher than ever and will likely never come down (that is, they will only rise more slowly).

The time when we thought “reaching across the aisle” could solve anything is over. It is effectively every man for himself. The pandemic didn’t make us come together, it had the opposite effect of making everyone more isolated and self-interested. I’m not all pessimistic about the future but I do think the effects of the pandemic were mostly negative, and it did so much damage to society.
@SW-User Honestly, I never realized curbside pickup wasn’t available before the pandemic. I still think it might have been a government experiment no matter how many people deny this claim

Long wait times to get into a restaurant on a weekend. I still see so many people that place to-go or delivery orders instead of eating in the restaurant…
@deadmoon nobody wants to be forced to pay a tip
deadmoon · 31-35, F
@Souls They force you to do it with takeout orders anyway, so it’s not like ordering out makes much of a difference in the wallet to eating in the restaurant anymore.

Systemic balances and harmonies in many areas of the economy. Retail, medicine, repair systems, airports, etc etc.

Many are sub opitimal in my observation.

Around here, inflation of food prices. Everything else settled back to normal. Even gas.
