Surgery. I had been VERY active prior to shoulder surgery...walking every day...gym...and suddenly I was in a lot of pain and confined to bed.

The surgery even affected my job, which was a physically active job, and I wasn't able to continue. I got a job as a corporate customer service rep, because I could handle that while I recuperated...but it involved a lot of sitting at a computer.

@4meAndyou I have been there myself having had 12 different major surgeries and being placed on medical leave or in an office doing nothing post-surgery until you can get into therapy and such. With my First Spinal injury that led to one surgery not to be paralyzed from the waist down and nothing to do but lay around for six months before starting therapy I went from 220 pounds to 260 pounds just laying around and eating out of anxiousness and boredom. The second spinal surgery one and half years later was not nearly as bad removing the hardware around my lower spine allowing me to move and bend again.

I know you pian and anguish.

It's a little hard to stay fit when you have a desk job and are sitting for 8 hours a day and tempted to eat. But then again, I see plumbers and construction workers and whatnot and I think, maybe it's hard to keep the pounds down when having a job at all...
@BlueVeins number of hours working is a risk for your own obesity and any children you have. Mom's work hours are related to the fat kids ' weight. We've known that one since before the 1980's, but louder people want to talk about sweets and junk food and limiting people.
It used to be my job, when I worked until 10pm or when I used to work the night shift overnight until 8am. It meant that I used to eat overnight and that’s extra calories. After that I found comfort in the booze. Alcohol makes you gain weight if you drink most nights but it almost certainly slowed my weight loss down if I dieted without giving up alcohol altogether. So I stopped drinking for a few weeks at a time and losing weight was easy.

I gained weight when I was retaining fluid around by heart before my mitral valve was replaced.
DDonde · 31-35, M
I've gained a lot of weight twice:
1) Side effect of psych meds
2) Began over-drinking
But also my diet has not been as good as it should have been either, during both cases, which added to it.

See i think my kitchen has gone full-on crime scene. I swear, the refrigerator mob and the cabinet gang have declared war on me. I walk in, and it’s like a scene from “The Godfather”: “You come into my kitchen on the day my fridge is full… and you think you can just take what you want?”

The fridge, folks, is no longer just a cold box. It’s a cold-blooded criminal enterprise. I open the door, and suddenly I’m staring down the *Frozen Fugitives*. “You want that leftover pizza? Well, you can’t have it! It’s part of the family now.” And the cabinets? Don’t even get me started. They’re like the Don Corleone of storage, full of secrets, and always plotting.

I’ve tried to hide, really I have. I’ve hidden in the bathroom, pretending I’m busy, but somehow I still hear the *Lays Chips* whispering, “You can’t escape us.” It’s like they’ve got eyes everywhere. I swear, even my cereal boxes are giving me the side eye look.

And the worst part? I can’t hide from them. I’ve tried everything. Ive trief closing the fridge, turning off the lights, hiding behind the curtains, but they just wait. Like, “We’re watching you, girlfriend. Next thing you know, you’ll be caught with a bag of cookies in your hand, and there’s no coming back.”

Honestly, I think I might just join the *Refrigerator Mob*. At least I’d get the good snacks on the inside. Or I could just accept that I’m living in a constant state of snack warfare. Either way, these gangs have me cornered, and I think my only escape is a bigger fridge or maybe a diet.

Hahaha! Me diet my ass that's like asking @XDHyperGirlXD1 not to steal everyones fried chicken
