People who say they’re Christian and a Conservative, that’s an impossible mix. Your party says immigration is bad. But your god says:

Genesis 1:26-27: States that all people are made in the image of God and have inherent dignity

Deuteronomy 10:17-19: Commands God's people to love foreigners because they were once foreigners in Egypt

Exodus 22:21: States that foreigners should not be mistreated or oppressed

Leviticus 19:34: States that foreigners should be treated as native-born and loved as yourself

Leviticus 25:35: States that poor Israelites should be helped as if they were foreigners

Matthew 25:35: States that welcoming strangers is a way to show hospitality

Hebrews 13:2: States that hospitality to strangers should not be neglected
Christians conservatives are only Christian when it benefits them. Conservatives spike the use of apps like Grindr wherever theyre visiting for political debates, despite hating gay people and working to reduce their rights as human beings. Theyre all about the right to refuse service, until they wear horrible t shirts telling people they'll go to hell, and a Subway worker refuses to make their sandwich. They're pro-life until it comes to women dying from lack of healthcare, or doing something about the hundreds of children being murdered at school

@TeamSkullGrunt

I think dems have given lie to your very first sentence since the very word cancel has been used exclusively by them to inflict tremendous pain and harm on republicans who do not abolish their own free speech least dems remove from them their very living.
I don’t know what Grindr is so I won’t speak to that.
This celebrated “hatred” republicans are supposed to have for gays is a construct of your mind as programmed by the dems. Even if inclined to dislike any gay person, republicans would be terrified to admit this for fear of unleashing the wrath of hell on themselves. I wonder how many women have died in comparison to the 65 million unborn children. Of course, no one dare suggest MEN might lessen their furious pressure on women to “put out or get out” as one of the many possible avenues of reducing both unwanted pregnancies and unwanted children. Personally, I don’t want anyone to die, but wonder how many men would sacrifice their Saturday night fun in order that a woman might live and live guilt free from the psychological consequences of abortion.
Of course, you have so demonized republicans that you are not sane when it comes to your hatred of the. If you are truly as opposed to killing as you say, you might put in a word to those hunting downDT.

The Torah also says:

Not to put any Jew to shame.
Leviticus 19:17

Not to intermarry with gentiles. Deuteronomy 7:3

To exact the debt of a foreigner, but not Israelite.
Deuteronomy 15:3

That an Ammonite or Moabite shall never marry the daughter of an Israelite.
Deuteronomy 23:4

Not to sell a Hebrew woman to a foreigner.
Exodus 21:8

To keep the Canaanite slave.
Leviticus 25:46

Not to keep alive any individual of the seven Canaanite nations.
Deuteronomy 20:16

To exterminate the seven Canaanite nations from the land of Israel. Deuteronomy 20:17

Always to remember what Amalek did.
Deuteronomy 25:17

That the evil done to us by Amalek shall not be forgotten.
Deuteronomy 25:19

To destroy the seed of Amalek. Deuteronomy 25:19

Apart from the passages in Matthew and Hebrews, all of your passages come from the Torah. What does the Torah have to do with Christians? It was for the Jew. It is our book. Jesus came to show God to the world, so all nations could follow God. They do not need to follow the 613 Mitzvot. Christians only need to follow the ten commandments.

Christians only need to follow the ten commandments.

The real Ten Commandments, Exodus 34:11-28, are ethnocentric specific to Jews only. They do not apply to Gentiles.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@emiliya
Christ does want us to follow his ways. Sacrifice and selflessness are fundamental Christian values. In some passages, the word “brethren” is used. This tells us that Jesus does distinguish between his brothers and those who do not believe. You have to follow him.

If you want to follow the Jesus character, be sure to engage in self-mutilation to prevent yourself from sinning. And wash your buddies' feet and douse yourself in expensive perfume.
MarthannBann888 · 70-79, F
Interesting hypothesis, but you have completely demonstrated a total lack of understanding of the conservative view.

1. The Bible says nothing about approving illegal migration for the purpose of garnering votes from people who do not speak or read our language, and are easily led by others as to who to vote for.

2. The Bible does not encourage the use of these blind votes as a means of continuing the mass slaughter of millions of unborn children. While dems may not think these unborn children are people, I think you will be hard pressed to find approval for the extermination of the innocent.

3. The Bible does not speak with approval for the beneficiaries of this migration to inflict impossible tax burdens and quality of life burdens on everyday people whose resources are not consistent with the burdens placed on them by others who are creating this hardship merely for the the additional power of the additional votes.

4. This group of migrants are infiltrated by people who are committing incredible crimes against God and humanity and causing immense pain and suffering and death. The Bible doesn’t speak to people being forced to have the seeds of destruction planted on their front steps. The Bible does not speak approvingly of child trafficking, lethal drugs, and terrorists being provided a way to come to a place they wish to destroy.

5. The Bible also does not speak approvingly of people who pretend to humanitarian motives regarding immigration when in fact they are power hungry seekers of addional wealth. This deception of the innocent is abhorrent to the Almighty.

@MarthannBann888 What I find most odd about the liberal atheists is how they denigrate Christians for not doing what they are not doing. My church and church tradition has a long standing tradition of helping the hopeless by bringing them to safe harbour. If they are fleeing a war or political oppression we are here to help. Strangely the liberals/atheists never lift a finger to help. They make bellicose statements and accuse those who are helping but no way are they obligated to help. That is for others.
akindheart · 61-69, F
There is faith and then there is common sense. I have complete faith in the Lord but i do not agree to let our country be overrun by immigrants who can't support themselves. and they can't.
akindheart · 61-69, F
@Quimliqer the problem is they use our health care and social programs and still barely manage to survive. they are at least 75% if not more of the fraudulent claims in our country. it is that bad. no one speaks English where i live
last friday i went to the state health dept. i was the only white person there. scary

i was the only white person there. scary
Why was it scary?
akindheart · 61-69, F
@SW-User because i am in the USA and there are more immigrants, not Americans there. the numbers are staggering.
All the verses are nice but that’s not today’s reality.
We have an administration that abused our security and sovereignty for political purposes and power.

Let’s look at the Haitians: They’re here under “ temporary protected status”. Their country is under siege by gangs and now a multi national military force led by Kenya has deployed there to deal with the crisis of gangs pretty much in an attempt at overtaking the nation.
Now FYI the Haitian military has approximately 1500-2000 military. Ohio as a state recently highlighted, got an influx of 15-20,000. Haitians. They should be sent back and forced to Join their military so they won’t have to flee for whatever reasons they did.

@soar2newhighs Like Biden said, "The very idea of America that we are all created equal. We've never fully lived up to that idea, but we've never fully walked away from it either."
It's true, America never lived up to its own principles. However, the history of America is a history of moving closer and closer to fulfilling the ideas of the Enlightenment. We've become more democratic, more free.
But you're saying the western values America was founded on are wrong, so we actually should go back to less democracy, less freedom, and closed borders.

@MarkPaul the Green party is the only major voice against the genocide, but we understand Americans dismiss it! You are really not leftists in any way. Peace is impossible with most Americans. War is pretty sacred.
@Roundandroundwego What genocide?
@NativePortlander1970 exactly. You sound like an employable Murkan they'd have beeer with.

Ok we'll just send the migrants to your town so you can take care of them. What state do you live in?
@NoGamesTolerated It’s from the Bible. Don’t you read it?
@ShellSeeker I told you I’m done! Bye!
@ShellSeeker I understand it in the ‘whole’ … you obvious don’t. Please do not leave another comment. I will block you if you do. I’m done!
DareToSayIT · 31-35, M
People cherry-pick what suits their current agenda.
You’d hear them say, “Immigration is bad, let’s send them back”.

The next day, “Oh I want a new Russian bride, local women don’t like me”.
DareToSayIT · 31-35, M
@NativePortlander1970 oh man, I need to relearn all words again
@DareToSayIT At your age you should not have known that word of itself to begin with, you must have older relatives, most likely boomers, that say it.
DareToSayIT · 31-35, M
@NativePortlander1970 Yes, I grew up in Houston, heard it a lot in my neighborhood.
HypnoChode · 46-50, M
They don’t care. It was never about being Christ-like. They just want control.
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
It's interesting how many ppl think Christians should be doormats...allowing others to impose their will on us as if we aren't capable of rules or defense.

There is a difference between some immigrants and a foreign invasion. Millions of invaders is NOT merely immigration. People who can't see that aren't discussing in good faith.

@easterniowegin Tell it to your god. And say it nicely because he’s already mad with you.

I personally have never heard a Christian conservative say that they were against
LEGAL immigration. Only ILLEGAL immigration.
@missyann Look at how they're talking about the Haitians in Springfield who migrated legally. The opposition to immigration is 100% about race, nothing else.

You are a bit of a bigot. Kind of sad. I am very conservative and part of my conservatism is welcoming new people to my country. My church has a tradition of sponsoring refugees. So far we have helped people from Laos, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kosovo, Ukraine Iraq Afghanistan, Iran. Palestine. How about you. What have you done to help those fleeing war torn countries?
@hippyjoe1955 I stopped when you started name calling.

And guess what - there’s a Bible passage for people who name call too.

Are you even a Christian? Would Jesus recognise you?

I doubt it.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@ShellSeeker Of course there is another line about those who falsely accuse Christians. Such a person is a friend of Satan. There is also the line about those who say one thing and do another. They are called hypocrites. So again I have helped over 16 families move to Canada and get settled in Canada by finding them housing and clothes and food and jobs. I was the first one called by one fellow when he was arrested for having an illegal handgun. Sadly he was convicted and sentenced to a year in jail or return to Somalia. He went back to Somalia. So about your record of helping foreigners in need..... Care to share any details? Oh and by the way only the ones from Ukraine were Christian. The rest were muslim or buddhist. so you really can't say that I was biased in any way. So again. What have you done other than accuse Christians of doing what you are doing.

Christian people in my experience aren't capable of political reasoning. They're actually afraid of it.

One of the names for Satan is chaos. Unfortunately, that is how you sound. Not very coherent.
A more thorough reading of history would say that liars win fora while.

There are also the three places in the OT which mention taking care of the widows, the orphans, and the sojourners in your midst, which clearly feeds into Jesus' parable of the Good Samaritan

Everybody gets in....murderers, child trafficers, drug runners, everybody! Ain't amerika grand!!
@sunsporter1649 That’s for your God to judge, not you.

Besides - they let you in.
@ShellSeeker Our God gives us a brain. And some of us use it. Why don’t you?!
@ShellSeeker I get angry at how the devil has so many people blindly being used of him!

I belive in a close border and making sure immigrants are coming in the right way . Your saying that is bad . You support illegal immigrants?
Theyitis · 36-40, M
I’m not a conservative myself, but I would like to point out that the traditional meaning of “conservative” does not necessarily mean hating all immigrants.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
Just think not all people believe in God and don't follow any politics of the government
@smileylovesgaming
don't follow any Pacific government
. 😂😂😂
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@ShellSeeker u know what I meant
human dignity is one of the core principles of conservatism
@ammelee Even their immigration policies? Their need for a wall goes against the instruction from their god to be welcoming and hospitable to foreigners.
There is nothing bad about being a Christian or a Conservative or both......it is when people use Christianity or Conservatism to justify their own bigotry that you get a problem.
Deuteronomy is part of the 613 Miztvot of Moses, also known as the Laws of Moses, xtians believe they're under a nes "covenant", which makes them believe they're not beholden to the Miztvot.
