Anybody else live in Florida and riding out hurricane Idalia?

@Musicman noooo. they happen all the time. Irma was bad. We evacuated to Tennessee. Some of my neighbors stayed. A tree fell on someone's car and they lost electricity for two weeks. That one took a while to recover from.

@DeluxedEdition You are very smart. We went to Waco Texas and did the Chip and Joanna Gaines thing. We don't come back until the electricity is back on.

@cherokeepatti Oh no. We are about 215 miles south of where it made landfall. We are getting rain, thunder and lightning and wind.

@Musicman that don’t sound so bad then. The sound is probably so irritating though.

@cherokeepatti We had heavy rain. 40 mph winds gusting to 70 mph and four feet of storm surge. So only people and businesses right on water, mainly rivers, had anything to worry about.

@Barefooter25 Yes it is. We pay for top of the line insurance only to get blown off. 😡

@Musicman Maybe it's time to find a new insurance company. DeSantis needs to come back and fix our state's insurance mess.

@Musicman the key to that is getting the heck out of dodge before everybody else gets the bright idea. when Ivan came and they said it was going to be a back braker I strongly suggested (I hate the word beg) that he get out of town - he ended up in Mississippi and he could have ridden it out - the house didn't sustain damage - but I had to be at work for the duration so I slept better knowing where he was.

@Pretzel We usually leave a few days ahead. Like I said, this time we stayed. If the power would have gone out we have a onboard generator with three rooftop air conditioners and a residential refrigerator in the kitchen. We would have been very comfortable.

@Musicman shoot - you could sell the house and live in there!! :)

@robertsnj They are saying that we will have 45 mph winds gusting to 70 mph. We are going to have 3 inches of rain and 4 feet of storm surge. Your customer will have it much worse.
