Anybody else live in Florida and riding out hurricane Idalia?

We live in South West Florida. The storm is not supposed to come ashore anywhere near us, but we are supposed to have 2 to 4 foot storm surge and 3 inches of rain. Even though Idalia isn't supposed to make landfall until tomorrow morning the outer bands of rain started 15 minutes ago. Stay safe everyone.

I just talked to a customer in Tampa. He said it may hit hours north of their location in a remote part of Florida. I don't know squat about their geography but he wasn't concerned in the least about it.

@robertsnj I live 3 hours south of your customer and we are concerned. Schools have been closed for today and tomorrow. Almost every business is closing at 5 tonight and be closed tomorrow too.

@Musicman you are probably right / just notice he couldn't have cared less. was the first question I asked on our c all.

@robertsnj They are saying that we will have 45 mph winds gusting to 70 mph. We are going to have 3 inches of rain and 4 feet of storm surge. Your customer will have it much worse.

@robertsnj This is the first one we have ever stayed home for. Usually we load our motorhome and evacuate.
