@TheWildEcho Whether or not I believe in the deity of a religion is irrelevant. You could still show respect for It.
You christians are all alike, demanding repect for your silly beliefs and little imaginary friend while showing total contempt for others. I believe that "Do unto others..", or something similar, is a doctrine of christianity so I presume, by showing contempt for other beliefs, you want me to show similar contempt for yours. I'm happy to oblige.
@Sharon well let's wait and see, another 20 yes and I'll probably not be on this earth, and if that sounds a long time then think how fast the last 20 have gone
I was wondering about that several months ago, and some people from my church assured me that I am going to heaven. I am not quite as confident as they are, but I hope my Heavenly Father forgives me for a life ill spent, in sin, and takes me home!
@BritishFailedAesthetic Awesome! BUT I was raised Catholic, and we Catholics, former or not, always end up feeling guilty and like we're not quite good enough...🤣🤣🤣
I hope so! Heaven will be amazing! God is so good. Nothing here compares because we are so sinful. It is a wonder why he wants to save us! I hope God will say good and faithful servant one day. But some days I feel I have failed him. I could serve him better, and I will try! But I know it is because of what Jesus did and our faith in him how we get there. I hope I will go to heaven one day not because anything I did. Our best work is like "dirty rags " compared to his Holiness. I can't wait for the wars and all injustices here to end and Jesus to come through the clouds, and the trumpet will sound and he will gather us up from all corners of the world, "The dead in Christ will rise first and then we who are alive will meet The Lord in the air. And then we will forever be with the Lord".
Nobody is predestined. People themselves decide by the lives they live. I would hope I am on my way to heaven. But I am sinful, as we all are and have much room to improve.
Whether heading for the Pure Land Or heading for Hell All is in Amida's hands. Namu-amida-butsu!
Amida looking back:-
Her hands are in the mudra's of teaching and Come Unto Me. But she looks back, her first concern for those who do not learn and do not come, for whatever reason.
Heaven and Hell are mental states. We all experience them many times.

@Entwistle Yes, that is as close as it gets. And ideas of our personalities/egos being perpetuated eternally would be hell, however dressed up. And ideas of any human being being tormented perpetually, and conscious of it, is one of the most contemptible products of the triumphant herdmind. Those who believe it, and think it "just" in any way have had their moral sense totally corrupted by dogma and creed.
