If you built a house what's something special you would put in it,?

Work room, pantry, bar, sun room.....
What would you do?

Next place will be downsized from this one .. looking for less wasted house space (3 Br instead of 4, no formal living room or dining room) and more usable space elsewhere. Maybe a pantry in kitchen, workout space in basement.

I will need a 3 season porch or covered outdoor space, room in yard for a fire pit, 2 car attached garage, separate 2 car garage /workshop or room to build one.

@BrandNewMan not picky at all 🙂
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Depends on where would it be. If somewhere up north, I'd make a glass cupola somewhere on top.
Somewhere hot and sunny, I'd get solars and a pool.

I have been building my own home, and still am, Everything is done and built by me, so the special thing I will put in it is "Me"!

I have on whole album dedicated here to that building process.

@WowwGirl Thank you! I found that sink on vacation with my daughter in Gatlinburg, TN at a shop. They had several and that one weighs 80 pounds solid carved granite. I Diddle about it and was offered $10 off and bought it. Then I carried it in my arms four blocks like a baby. It was hot and I sat on every park bench between the shop and our hotel room. People stopped and looked at my red face asking me if I was okay while catching my breath. I said yes, and they laughed and walked away. I won't do that again. LOL

Heavy Traffic or not I will drive and pick it up.

@WillaKissing I want blush in my bathroom somehow besides tile or paint. Awesome taste
WillaKissing · 56-60, M
@WowwGirl Thank you, it will be in my half bathroom. It will set off the bathroom I think.
1) Meditation Room
2) Study room with book cabinets
3) Outside if I had enough space , shed for animals, amphitheatre and gardens.
4) Work room
5) sauna or relax room
6) indoor game room
7) storage rooms
8) mini cinema hall ( a big screen with alot of chairs for family and guests to watch things together.

Assuming this if I was very rich lol otherwise sometimes a small place with peace is also enough 😅
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@littlepuppywantanewlife I was thinking a little bar in the family room or a workshop in the garage. I'm not rich but would like something fun in a normal house
@WowwGirl both are good ideas. 🙂

A smoke room, a nice gaming room for the kids, a quiet sensory room for my daughter and a big fireplace in the living room
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@Cigarguy101 fireplace would be great I agree
faery · 31-35, F
I'd have a meditation room that opens up onto a large covered patio with a small salt water pool and adjoining hot tub at the edge of the patio.
exexec · 70-79, C
A larger library/office with lots of wall space for pictures and a large window overlooking the pond I would have out back.
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@exexec id love a stocked pond
exexec · 70-79, C
@WowwGirl Me too. I could happily sit on the bank with a line in the water and not even bait the hook. I grew up fishing in ponds.
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@exexec dig a pond man
exchrist · 31-35

cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Safe room, walk-in pantry, and a room with a solar tube for plants to grow.

Degbeme · 70-79, M
A room where I could build a massive model railway. 🚂🚃🚃🚃
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@Degbeme neat
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@Degbeme I think that's cool and interesting idea
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@WowwGirl I love trains.
It would have a fireplace in the perfect spot.
I would install a natural gas-powered standby generator that would start automatically and power my whole house if the electricity suddenly went off.
exchrist · 31-35
@swirlie thats secondary for me full solar and geo thermal too.
@exchrist
A standby generator is ALWAYS considered a secondary source of power anyway, no matter what the application. Off the grid full-solar would be considered 'primary', with a fossil fuel-powered generator used as an emergency power backup as your secondary source.
WowwGirl · 36-40, F
@swirlie impressive
