What is a job you could never do?

TheFragile · 46-50, M
Work in a slaughterhouse.
HumanEarth · F
I can do that, I do that on the farm all the time
TheFragile · 46-50, M
@HumanEarth that wouldn't be for me. I couldn't kill an animal like that.
Blondily · F
Any job that would harm an animal or human.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
Forensic pathologists are usually employed to perform autopsies to determine cause and manner of death, especially when children have been murdered
Nanori · F
My current job, it kills me a little more everyday 🙂
TheFragile · 46-50, M
@Nanori Same here. I've been in my field a long time. I get passed up for promotions by younger, less qualified people and it's really depressing.
MyNameIsHurl · 41-45, F
School bus driver
SarahTheHooker · 26-30, F
@MyNameIsHurl Fast-track to deafness! I'd never have the patience. I'm with ya!

A surgeon…a couple days ago I was looking at my online medical chart for the day of my surgery in October. One of the posts was by one of the four surgeons and there were pictures of one of the things that they removed from my body, quite massive and it included photos of the surgeon’s bloody gloved hands. Nope, no way.
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti My brother actually thought quite seriously of becoming a surgeon. He was definitely smart enough...but he couldn't deal with blood and bad smells...HUGE gag reflex...so he became a paleontologist, because, he said, "Fossils are never bloody and they don't smell." 🤣
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou He makes a valid point. I don’t know how they do it. I was projectile vomiting when I was in ICU after surgery. I kept apologizing and the doctors kept telling me they were doctors and used to it. But a nurse that was in the hospital room they sent me to told me she could handle blood & guts but vomiting was the hardest thing for her to deal with. That’s why I kept apologizing….
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti I'm SO glad that time in your life is over. 🫂
Ducky · 31-35, F

@Squirrely My spouse is a preschool teacher. All props to those who can do it, but I know I never could. 😅
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
Work at a mortuary. I see people die in my line of work. And its eerie just being there with them when they pass. Ive had several people see a little boy right before they died. One lady was actually talking to him. Saying hi little boy! While looking at the floor as if a kid was standing there. She died the next day. It just gave me chills.
simjks4 · 22-25, M
I could never be a lawyer.. I just cant see myself doing it and actually being decent
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@simjks4 @AngelUnforgiven There are different types of law. Some do forensic work helping to prove that people who have been wrongly convicted of a crime are innocent, DNA testing has helped greatly with this. Some lawyers do work for mineral rights…just two examples. Not all lawyers work as criminal defense lawyers.
AngelUnforgiven · 51-55, F
@cherokeepatti of course i know that theres different lawyers i was giving an example

@Fairydust agree to disagree office work is reliable and steady income. My office is remote though so not sure if that counts.

Be a minister preaching about blind faith, brainwashing children, pushing an outdated creed, and begging for money on a topic that has an absence of evidence, murderous bronze age philosophies, and numerous alternatives to people in pain.

That’s the oldest profession in the world and yet they still haven’t made it legal globally… it should be legalised ( preventing stds etc )

Just my 50 cents
