One xmas eve, my gmaws foot was swelling extremely fast, but she wouldn't let anyone call an ambulance or the doc bc she hadn't had her after dinner coffee yet. When she finally shut up long enough for us to call, she was minutes away from dying from a blood cloth. Ambulance got there just in time.
(She talks a lot and loudly, so even if we went to the opposite side of the house, the dispatcher wouldn't be able to hear what we said on the phone, so gmaw had to actually stfu for us to call)

The Great Attractor. Something big is pulling our galaxy toward it. Something so unimaginably vast and powerful, it can make multiple galaxies gravitate towards it at alarming speed. The scariest thing is we can’t see what it is because we have the unfortunate luck of our solar system being located where the center of the Milky Way obstructs our view of whatever this anomaly may be.

@tallpowerhouseblonde Eh, depends what you mean by “everyone” and “understands”. About half of the US is in denial about it. It’s not that they can’t understand, it’s that they refuse to understand. Most everyone else in the world already gets it.
@Theyitis That's the problem. We tried fixing the problem without explaining it over and over to the stuріԁ people, because we figured it would waste too much time, and now the stuріԁ people are angrily trying to stop us from fixing the problem.
@bijouxbroussard Actually, I have read some analyses of this that explain it, but the explanation is equally depressing. In a nutshell, some American Christians essentially believe that the Gospels no longer apply today, because we are now supposedly in the era of the Book of Revelation. (The "end times.") It is now all about God's wrath. (I have oversimplified a complex argument here, but that's the gist of it.)
@bijouxbroussard Sorry lovely I wasn't trying to be rude, but I definitely know what you are talking about. Some are high on they're horse, judgemental and unpleasant. I think we're supposed to love everyone and show kindness and mercy. I have a hard time wrapping my head around it. I feel we are all connected and the goal of life (mine anyways) is that we are here to HEAL each other, not kill each other. One act of kindness has a domino effect that can be contagious. I wish the world would have a pandemic called Agape! 🫂
That majority of people think emotionally and therefore are easily manipulable. A large portion can be made into killing monsters and too many don't need much to morally justify acting on their sadistic tendencies or at least cheering those who act on them if it aligns with their sense of moral justice.
@LordBarbossa And at some point, for no reason known to medical science, there's a switch in our brains that goes off around age 40 or so that turns off the process that renews dying cells.
The good news is, scientists know where that switch is and how to reactivate it.
The president of the United States is dismantling the government organizations that warn us of weather disasters. Nearly half the country is in favor of this.
