Why Does God Need Money?

@Ontheroad I think the local church, covering about three villages, only has about a dozen old women attending. Their head office could easily pay for repairs though.

@Lynda70 They don't need to. They run their temples like banks. Their temples lend money and take kickbacks from it.

@Lynda70 Maybe your locals do that but I get ads about building mosques and asking for donations quite a bit

@Jackaloftheazuresand I've never had any requests for donations to a Mosque, maybe there are enough Muslims there to fund it themselves. The local christians seem to always be on the scrounge for money or holding various money making events.

@ninalanyon You're right, I am in the UK. The individual "foot soldiers" aren't exactly raking it in but the bishops and above have pretty lavish lifestyles. The church isn't short of a a few quid.

@MartinII As I pointed out in my OP. If this god thing could put an entire universe together in just six day, it ougth to be able to carry out a few simple building repairs itself. It ought to be able to manage a few "good works" too. The church shouldn't need Atheists money, it already has more than enough of its own.

@Lynda70 It’s up to you. If you don’t want to give them money, don’t. But I have just visited Peterborough cathedral, for the first time, and made a donation for the upkeep of that wonderful building. And I am an atheist too.

@Entwistle I do if they approach me directly. If their god is omnipotent, it shouldn't be difficult for it to fk itself.

The extortionist con man Moses made it part of the Ten Commandments (the 4th Commandment). He used it as a means to fund a fully-funded retirement plan for his gang of thugs, the Levites. While everyone else had to work all of their lives the Levites got to retire at fifty years old with full benefits.
