Why Does God Need Money?

I've just received another begging circular from the local christians scrounging donations to repair their clubhouse (church) - which they like to call "God's House". Their god is said to have created the entire universe and everything in it, out of nothing, in just 6 days. Why can't it do a few simple home repairs itself?

I'm often stymied by this very thing. You have hundreds, if not thousands of parishioners and they can't take care of their own building? Yeah, give me a break. Unless you are willing to pay for my home repairs, then stuff it.

@Ontheroad I think the local church, covering about three villages, only has about a dozen old women attending. Their head office could easily pay for repairs though.
