@Eternity I think a limited inheritance should be allowed. Say a million per child or grandchild. But if we had what we have now against what you propose i think what you propose is better.

There are a few questions that arise with it though.

1) Do we take family farmland? Land is very valuable and many small farmers are only farmers because they were able to inherit land. If they have to buy land every generation what does that do for food prices?

2) corporations and business can own assets and never die. This sounds like it would only speed up corporatozation of all resources in a nation. How do we stop that?

@ViciDraco as far as industries that create essentials like food, they may have to be taken out of the private sector for something like this to work. At least as far as the creation of staples like wheat and eggs and whatnot.

Perhaps less important food products could be left private.

As for as corporations and businesses, they should be dissolved after the owner/founder dies and the assets should be auctioned off to other businesses/entities/people in the same industry.

My view on it is that just giving people money is a bad way to go about it you need to actually take out the power strucutre or I guess a capitalist take is black people need to actually own capital, not money. This needs to be about the creation of a new middle class not just a payout.

@CountScrofula There I agree. Cutting checks would be estimated at well over trillions of dollars, and would basically be throwing away money.
Since it was once actually illegal to educate slaves, making college or technical school available to those who wanted to take advantage of it would help move folks forwards. That’s how the first generation out of slavery and the free blacks did it, largely through education.

@LordShadowfire I've always been fond of the biden approach, where you can't work in certain high-risk industries if you're not vaxxed and you need to get regular tests to stay in the labor force. Most people are really damn lazy & will get vaxxed anyway, and it does a good job of stayin on-message abt public health if that makes sense.
