Basic human selfishness and loss of true "humanity."
The lack of empathy and care that people have for other human beings that are not in their direct orbit is sad.
All human beings exhibit narcissist traits in some way... The problem is that the level seems to be rising and many people don't care about others unless they need them as a "resource " in some way. Much like your typical narcissist would outright view everyone they come in contact with as.
Lack of education. It's also quite sad to see.

@nevergiveup It costs even more money to put guards on the doors and in a highly competitive business atmosphere it's probably cheaper to charge everyone else money for lossage than employ staff willing to accept physical violence from organised gangs. I share your frustration though.

Honestly, none of it is really hidden. The majority of us are just distracted by this, that, or the other thing. So we don’t look directly at all the fucked-upness going on.

I think we all do this to some extent to make life on earth feel more comfortable or at the very least acceptable for ourselves.
