Understanding. The implications are catastrophic.

That's true. It's the basic fabric of any society

The ability to disagree with out demonizing those you disagree with

Accountability and a decent work ethic, among other things

Common sense is fading rapidly

Basic morality...it extends to everything

Common sense, broad education, integrity, ethics, empathy and the attention span to read this far.

Consequence

Yes, those 2 things, and the ability to withhold judgment, and to do the necessary leg work to arrive at a fully informed opinion, there being way too many ways to get information, one must be trained to a certain extent to make our bounty work for us and not just make us more and more feeble and unable to think for ourselves.

For sure, and flexibility everything is supposed to fit the " menu".

Politeness and the ability to allow others their privacy.

To what others have said and I agree with them I would add propriety. Sense of decency. Sense of right or wrong. Sense of order.

Manners and common courtesy

I would agree and only add a lack of a moral compass.

Everyone has terribly unrefined social skills. Not to be dramatic but I think It's a threat to civilization.

It lacks of a sense of community, solidarity, all what means "us" at every level.
What we are having is an hypertrophy of the individual.
And it´s NOT an inocent "trend".

Honesty and critical thinking are lacking

Intellect. On SW I can't get one person to focus on one of the most important developments in the history of mankind. Only stupid jokes and hot pictures do well.

Going out of our way for someone else, when there is nothing in it for us.

Compassion and patience are definitely big ones.

But also humility in the sense of having the willingness to accept we might be wrong and being willing to learn new information independent of whether it aligns with our personal biases.
