Nuture and Nature can come into play so yes, but that's not the only way.
KznLvr · 51-55, MNew
@SlippingAway have seen some raised/ basked in all kindz of Love; factory defect... There is something to " Bad Seed"
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@KznLvr I agree there are some born evil, and there are some that become evil due to outside forces as well.

Captainjackass · 31-35, M
Some people are born sociopaths I think but usually their upbringing add to it. But take someone like Dennis Raider BTK, from all accounts his upbringing was completely normal and his parents decent people. Yet from a young age he enjoyed killing animals and the act of binding himself. He had a normal life yet became one of the most evil killers in recent history. Then again I grew up in an abusive household and it just made me able to empathize with others more and make me have a strong sense of justice.

I know so. But in the end they have the choice of not acting on their impulses and most don’t make that choice.

I believe psycopaths are born that way, yes.
Sociopaths are born out of trauma from abuse, etc...
meggie · F
Yrs. My mum had a very sadistic spiteful streak in her. She loved humiliating people and lying when confronted.
Allelse · 36-40, M
@meggie Ugh! It's like they never can or will admit just how much they hate you.
meggie · F
@Allelse That is true. She wasn't capable of love.and hated seeing anyone happy.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
That's a tough call, but I think some are.
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@cherokeepatti I've wondered that too. I can't help but think genetics forms one's pysche to a large degree.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nitedoc And then those traits skip some members of the same family so there’s that. There was an old white-haired man who worked as a painter at the university. He was such a perv. For years he would only talk about young women and imply or say sexual things like seeing coeds half-dressed in front of windows or whatever. It’s like that was all he could think about to talk about. All of us women tried to stay away from him the best we could but sometimes would come back from lunch and hear him talking like that to another employee he knew. Then one day my supervisor said that he had a brain tumor and was having to be off for surgery. When he came back he was the most respectful and thoughtful person in everything he said. He seemed to be completely different and I didn’t feel creeped out around him. I told my supervisor that I thought that brain tumor had something to do with his previous personality. I had seen a story on 60 Minutes about an older man who had a brain tumor and had surgery. Before it was discovered he had molested his granddaughter. It happened one time and her mother turned him into the police. The girl was a teen and she said he had never acted that way before it happened. And after the surgery he seemed different . She and her family believed that the brain tumor and where it was situated in his brain was responsible for what he did and they wanted the judge to drop the charges.
NinaCherry · 31-35, F
@cherokeepatti they just like being this way, prolly for some sense of power
Lostpoet · M
I think it's mostly on how someone was raised and their environment.
JohnnySpot · 56-60, M
@Lostpoet We Need To Talk About Kevin
Lostpoet · M
@JohnnySpot Yes, that was the whole point of Cathy who was based off of John Steinbeck's ex-wife.
Lostpoet · M
@JohnnySpot I don't remember a Kevin in the East of Eden.
AndysAttic · 56-60, M

Not really, they are developed that way. When we are born, we all are just blobs that want to eat and sleep. Other interests develop later.
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
Yes, they grow up to be democrats
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
I believe there are demons possessed their ancestors and runs in the family. That need to be rid of in the Name of Jesus.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@FreestyleArt Could be that, a generational curse. But how did it affect my sisters and not me?
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
Theyre called democrats
Musicman · 61-69, M
Yes I do. ☹
JohnnySpot · 56-60, M
We Need To Talk About Kevin
(Very disturbing movie)
eyeno · M
IMHO, its the parents failure in guidance and discipline.

Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@eyeno I got disciplined the same as my sister which means close to not at all. And she’s a brat and I’m emotional.
nedkelly · 61-69, M

ElRengo · 70-79, M
Doubt it.
But I´m sure there are people that worked hard to become as evil as they are!
robbie2499 · 61-69, F
@HowtoDestroyAngels I have to agree.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
I think so yes. You can see a person’s personality when they’re young.
