You didn’t lose the time you put in sober, and all the benefits. So it’s not a start over, more like you paused the game and are picking it back up now
wackidywack · 26-30
@WaryWitchWandering honestly, that's a lovely way to put it
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
What WaryWitchWandering said. You haven't lost anything. You aren't at a 'reset' or anything.
You are on a path and you are a LOT further down that path than you were before. You stumbled, and all you have to do is pick yourself off and keep on the journey.

@wackidywack You've been through a lot and I mean, you're a psychologist. You know there's better coping mechanisms out there to develop but that shit is HARD and sometimes everything crumbles away.
wackidywack · 26-30
@CountScrofula damn right, it's so easy to say and plan yet honestly so difficult to pull through with. Like terribly terribly difficult, it's unbelievable. Yet there's always space to grow I believe. It's patience and kindness
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@wackidywack You got this! Forgive yourself for stumbles. Life is hard.
Tumbleweed · F
You got this. Trust me. I've been there myself. 🫂

well done man.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
I'm sorry about that. Have you tried to go to a rehab? Rehab's in the UK are the best. Atleast the one that I've been in at in England. They're really really nice to take some time off from the idiotic world and take time out for yourself. The best I've been in. The best staff and awesome food as well. And they don't tie you up, like they once (twice, thrice?) did at rehabs in India and in Poland.
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
You can do this, you've done it before so you know you can do it again.
wackidywack · 26-30
@AntisocialTroll I will do even better the next time. I was going to try and count how many years I've been sober but I've honestly lost count so if I have to guess it's probably 5 or 6. I'll try to reach that again
dubkebab · 56-60, M
@wackidywack That's a good attitude. Try talking to someone who knows about this struggle before you are tempted to take that first drink. Luckily things weren't fully disastrous. People die from this.
WaryWitchWandering · 36-40, F

Yes, time to start again. It's not an easy thing, and many, many people find it takes multiple efforts to succeed. Don't give up.
Iwillwait · M
Get back up, and start again. That's all that matters is that you keep getting/staying sober.
Nutshell29 · 26-30, F
You can do it Peter won't be an easy journey but we try and try again till we succeed could be years from now or even months be patient with yourself good things to take time
fun4us2b · M
Maybe not starting over, but just picking up where you left off. Hang in there. 💪
