Panic attacks.

For those of you prone to panic attacks, what triggers them?

Me - cramped enclosed spaces (shops, buses, lifts, etc).

Hospitals.

Having to deal with too many people to deal with in a day and no "alone-time".

Yeah they are horrible. I used to get them before public speaking. I have learnt to overcome them through a technique called grounding. It really helped me. It brings me back to reality and out of the panic.

@Mooed78 Glad you found something to help ♥️
Crowds. I'm not a people person. I don't like socializing at any event and dont like strangers being too close. Even in a checkout lane in a store. If someone is standing too close behind me i can feel my anxiety climbing my body getting stiff. My breathing changing.

Damn. I dont sound like a weirdo at all 😒
@SW-User it really does

@Bexsy im not a people person either......im a bit of a hermit at times!! 😀
Fluffybull · F
@Bexsy You're not weird at all. We all have our own "personal space" and others should be careful not to invade it. ♥️

I have social anxiety!! I have dealt with this for years. Huge crowds, small spaces, having to interact with people i dont know. These all trigger a huge panic attack. I hate it......i take meds for it, but it doesnt always work. 😑😔
Fluffybull · F
@Bexsy I love music but hardly went to any when I was younger coz of the crowds!
@Fluffybull I will go if outside and its like standing and walking around. Only way.

@Fluffybull yeah, my doc has reduced my anxiety med and I’m gonna come off of it soon. I’m learning to deal with things without a pill. Hopefully I can!! 😊
People, usually situations where I have to play nice, welcome them into my home and make conversation.

Having to go to an event where Im expected to interact socially but I don't know anyone.

Having someone correct my every word, my every action and my every effort. A day of this and Im a ball of confused emotion and electricity that needs to hide while it explodes.
@Fluffybull thank you! Sometimes I feel as though I’m being unreasonable in my terrors 😁
Fluffybull · F
@nonsensiclesnail It sounds as though you're more of an introvert and your hubby more of an extrovert?
@Fluffybull absolutely! He really doesn’t understand my introverted self.

Fluffybull · F

Physical pain and not knowing the cause.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@SW-User thats why I started to actively take care of my health. I cannot experience that again. Hard to live with that
SW-User
@Dan193 im taking better care of myself also. We are in the same boat!!
Fluffybull · F
@Dan193 That's difficult 😥

Crowds of any kind ...😖
Fluffybull · F
@SW-User They're awful aren't they? I actually welcomed the "social distancing" during covid 👍
SW-User
@Fluffybull I despise visiting big cities ...I forget that then when I'm visiting one ..I'm reminded
Fluffybull · F
@SW-User I love cities as long as I can find a space to observe everything. 🤗
Convivial · 26-30, F
Never experienced them luckily
Dan193 · 31-35, M
@Convivial yeah, take care of yourself. They're the worst feeling
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
Crowded spaces, windows that go to the floor on anything over 3rd floor, elevators, passing other vehicles, parking in tight spaces, when a boss calls a meeting, the entire day when I have my therapy appointment, any time I have to lead a work zoom.
Fluffybull · F
@Starcrossed Yes! ❤️
