I Think I’ve Figured Out At Least Part of The Reason For Me Having Insomnia & Waking Up Through The Night….

I take vitamin C supplements and have them in a box and have been taking them with dinner most of the time. They say they can give a burst of energy and should be taken early in the day. I read that last night. Live and learn. I also don’t have much energy in the morning and maybe this will help me get an early start in the day.

Thanks for the tip. I don't take the supplement but do a bit of citrus juices with a late snack. Re the morning slugs, do you have diabetes?

@Heartlander I imagine. I have never had high blood sugar. I think it may be more of an adrenal issue why I generally don’t get around good in the morning. Plus lack of a good night’s sleep doesn’t help.

@cherokeepatti I had similar experiences, but flip-flopped in my 60s. Like I spent the 1st two-thirds of my life needing a couple of hours of transition in the morning before feeling really awake. It didn't matter how long I slept, or didn't sleep. At some point that ended and started waking up before the clock went off, feeling awake and ready to join the world of the living within a few minutes.

@Heartlander one reason for the vitamin C is that it helps nourish and heal the adrenal glands. But obviously if I am not sleeping much less healing will happen.

@4meAndyou I slept better last night. I think it is the Vitamin C that was causing the problem. I got wired from it and didn’t realize it was causing that.

@cherokeepatti I slept A LOT last night. I took a nap around 5:30 pm, for 4 hours!!!! Woke up and watched tv till 12:30 am and then slept clear through the night to 8:00 a.m.!!!! I think God heard us!!!

I read a while back you shouldnt take vitamins before you go to bed for that very reason

@Tminus6453 If I have supper and take them about 6 or 7 in the evening I’m up till after midnight or even 1 a.m. and then lay down and sleep a while wake up and repeat several times till my alarm goes off. This needs to stop.

@MrBrownstone I had some of that in my oatmeal today. It helps with digestion etc. I also drank 2 cups of green tea this morning early in the day. Got some chores done and went shopping this afternoon. Not taking vitamin C today but will early in the morning.

@MrBrownstone the vitamin C that I take is buffered so it doesn’t hurt my stomach lining. It also doesn’t have rose hips in it, they tend to make me itch like hell.
