it was a break in my reality. i could not function. I lost 30 lbs. I could not get out of bed. I just couldn't believe she was gone. to this day, when i think that i will never see her again, i get depressed

akindheart · 61-69, F
@PoetryNEmotion that is beautiful
PoetryNEmotion · F
@akindheart Not my words. I read them somewhere. It seems fitting.
Eklipse · F
@PoetryNEmotion It's a close family member. Passed away this morn. Still gutted about it:/

So....I'm studying grieving....Generally, it's associated with someone's death, but my grieving is over the demise of my beloved wife. She's still with me. The call it "artificial grieving...." which is kind of insulting. But....there are various stages of grieving that don't follow any particular order. If you'd care too, you can google stages of grieving and see what I mean. One famous person said that given a choice of grieving or nothing, he'd take grieving. I would prefer nothing....
originnone · 56-60, M
@Eklipse We don't know each other, but fi you want to share stories, I'm open to that....
Eklipse · F
@originnone Sure. Why not
PoetryNEmotion · F
@originnone My condolences for your loss.
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
It sure does! When my brother died the pain was unbearable, emotionally and physically. 🤗
Eklipse · F
@Jeephikelove Sorry for your loss. I can imagine. I'm going through loss too right now. Can't come to terms with it yet. 😔🤗
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
@Eklipse I’m so sorry for you loss. It takes a long time, please don’t let anyone tell you anything different. 🤗
Eklipse · F
@Jeephikelove It does. Seeing my other family members struggle is also hard. 🤗🌹

Because when someone leaves, you're reminded of your own essence and feeling the distance between your identity self and your essential self. If you can know life is eternal and that there's never any separateness, you wouldn't grieve. But when you attach the love you have for someone with things of this time/space reality, you feel grief when those things you shared with that person are withdrawn.
Carissimi · 61-69, F
You would still feel the loss, and therefore feel the grief, even if you knew there was life after death. You would still miss the person in your life on earth. @PhoenixPhail
PhoenixPhail · M
@Carissimi Yes, even knowing there's no separateness, you grieve the person the way you knew them. It's very different not having them there in form. So, there's a sense of their absence.
Eklipse · F
@PhoenixPhail I agree. I get to struggle the most when memories hit otherwise I cope not so bad. It's still painful and tiring though.

@Lyfis2live maybe forever even ....
@Eklipse Nothing stays forever. Just Nothing!

Eklipse · F
@vetguy1991 More like losing a piece of you
Convivial · 26-30, F
There's a time to grieve, and it's right that you do.
But there's also a time to pack things away and nice on, and that's even more important

JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
It's a painful reminder of what they meant to you and how much losing them hurts.
Eklipse · F
@JohnnyNoir Ill trust your judgement. I just don't feel it right now. Just fuels all the stuff I hide within
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@Eklipse it may take a while as you're still sorting through your grief. There's no timetable for when it ends.
Eklipse · F
@JohnnyNoir It doesn't end. Just you got to bear with it because it would drive you crazy.
ExperienceDLT · M
Cause feeling it is the way you know you still have a heart and feelings it is when you stop feeling grief is when you should worry
Eklipse · F
@ExperienceDLT Hm. Feelings are sure destructive I can say that.
ExperienceDLT · M
@Eklipse yea they can be
Herefornowl · 26-30, M

emotions.

Something so deeply embedded into your emotions cannot be easily extracted. It's like trying to remove the foundations of your house while the house is still standing. You have to expect that the impact will be major. Time eases the pain, but unfortunately there are no shortcuts. You just have to go through it.
Eklipse · F
@SW-User Its too early. Another two my closest gone after the first a year ago? 😔

SW-User
@Eklipse It's one of the worst realities of life, that the longer that you live you will experience more and more death. However, death is a part of the journey. We can only hope that it comes without pain. When it comes, however it comes, we do best by celebrating the life. People leave part of themselves with you and that can never be taken away.
Eklipse · F
@SW-User It's only worse because I've experienced loss at a very young age then it kept on going and didnt stop till Thur day. One can only stop and think how precious life is.
Japrost · 41-45, M

iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
