Teach your kid to handle it else the kid will always be picked on. I jad personal experience when in school, until one day i turned around and used what i learnt

I was told by my daughters school the 'bully' was having a terrible time at home and them taking action could hinder her progress! 3 times i made appointments to speak to staff and 3 times I turned up and wasnt seen. In the end, my husband went to the school and refused to.leave until someone spoke with him about the situation. Eventually, he spoke with my daughters head of year who again pointed out the bully was part of a program to help her behaviour,so my husband said, 'well...if you dont sort it, we will. We've told our girl not to retaliate, but we'll tell her we understand if she does... and.. she has 5 cousins in her year group happy to back her up!!!' The teacher said...'oh Mr P....we cant condone that sort of behaviour' so hubs said, 'right... well I want that girl to apologise to my daughter and you to ensure us you will monitor it so it doesn't reoccur'
And... within 5 mins, our girl and the bully were pulled out of class and she got her appology in front of her Dad.....and it didn't happen again.
Shes 6ft tall now, a solider in the British army. She's Fit as F*ck, boxes, plays rugby....and i doubt anyone would choose to.pick on her these days.....

Daughter was being bullied by a big girl twice her size the bully did not know i workrd with her dad. Just went up had a conversation (about work) the girl was shocked did not know what we were talking about. Now the bully stoped because she knew if my daughter told me her dad could find out.....
My daughter did not want me to tell so i didn't.

@dale74 🤣🤣 Continuous police presence, and you don't even have to be there. Power move.💪

I fought back.
The first time got me thrown back into the second grade again. Not just suspended.
The second time, in the sixth grade, only the bully knew about it. 🙃
That was the end of being bullied though.
You need to not only teach your kids to defend themselves, you as well need to teach them how to be smart about it.
To know when to fight as well as when to cut your losses.

I got the district involved when he and another boy held my son against the wall and choked him, that boy was expelled from school in Grade School, he had a history of violence and eventually went on to bring a knife to school and cut another kid.

I WAS the "bullied kid."
And at the time, my parents handled it by saying I should "ignore it."
But ignoring it in hopes that it will stop in time can only go so far.
When it became impossible to ignore, I did the first thing any sensible person would do and that was to tell someone about it.
But every time I did, all I got was the runaround.
Eventually it got to a point where I saw no way out of the situation, but to react violently.
Sure enough, that got me suspended from school for a couple days.
Still, it's all in the past.
The experience of it may have come and gone, but the memory lives on.

My kids were never bullied. My son is grown, and by daughter is almost 13, but she gets along with everyone thankfully.

My son WAS the bully. As parents, we would take him to the house of the child he had bullied, or whose toy he had stolen, and we would make him apologize and return the toy.

In our specific situation, the children dealt with their own bullies. We, as their parents were the support and back up.

I made a meeting with the school, his teacher, principal, ect. They all assured me it would stop but it didn't. So I called them again.

I don't have kids, but I have told my niece not to rise to their bait. Just return it with kindness and a smile. Which will either lead the bully to become friends with her, or piss them off. Either way she wins.

You let your kid teach them exactly the same way so they bully gets to feel the pain. Or depending on the situation silence. Our system supports bullies, not the victim.
