I have really bad anxiety and I need some motivation!

It’s hard to be motivated to leave the house, go on dates, go hang out with people, eat healthy, exercise, etc. any advice on what can motivate me to get out of bed or the house? All I ever wanna do is lay in bed and get on my phone, sit on the couch and watch tv, and/or Eat a lot more than I should when I’m bored

I mean, neurologically speaking, motivation mostly comes from dopamine, so you could go the pharmaceutical route and get medications that help increase the number of dopamine molecules in your brain and see how that works.

But I also think having an accountability buddy also goes a long way. It's why people get workout partners or why you mostly see people in groups when you're outside. Social pressure/obligation tends to have a positive effect in that regard.

I think it's too hard to do it all by oneself. It depends purely on willpower and science shows us repeatedly that willpower is a finite resource. It takes a lot of energy to fight off the urge to be lazy

Thing is not doing all the things you mentioned keeps you feeling that way. I'd start with one like eating healthy and then go from there and tick them off. The exercise and eating right will help you feel good and give you the boost to go outside and then the rest comes after. Going on dates is hard for everybody haha so I'd leave that till last on the list personally.

Unplug your tv. Forces you to be bored and do something else. Write down a schedule for the day of things you want to do. Maybe even the time your going to do them at and be disciplined. Because you want change. Your not happy with the way you are right now. Remind yourself of that. Remind yourself your capable of change.

Make a to do list for the next day. Sleep. Wake up, drink 8 oz. of water, stretch, do 100 jumping jacks. You can break it down to sets, like 10s, 20s, 25s, whatever you can manage in a row at a time. Then eat breakfast, make your bed, and then break out the to do list.
