I'm interested in your questions regarding the Theory of Evolution. [Spirituality & Religion]
Evolution is the best, most comprehensive, consistent and predictive theory that exists to explain the diversity of life on this planet...and yet there exists a fringe group who reject it. It is my opinion that this is largely due to ignorance.
With an eye to that, i'd like to answer your questions and criticisms about evolution, layman though i am. 😀👍
So when i'm pointing out that you've failed to substantiate any of your claims and that you always fail to do so, preferring instead to make personal comments about me, i'm being insulting.
But when you call me and atheists in general ignorant, deluded, idiotic etc....you're just telling us truths about ourselves?
lol fascinating.
Tell ya what, friend If you really are interested in reasonable discussions try not telling people so many truths about themselves and focus more on the arguments. That is to say refuting them, not just saying they're wrong. Maybe you're telling us truths, maybe you're not. It doesn't matter because either way it is not a productive way to encourage discussion and debate. Assuming that you value either of these things, i hope you'll take that advice under consideration.
Come on guy, love thy neighbour as thyself and do unto others etc. Turns out that most of us here will be kind to you if you are kind to us.
So let's start fresh here.
My argument for why the bible alone is insufficient evidence for jesus rising from the grave is that a) there are no extrabiblical sources corroborating this claim and b) that given the extraordinary nature of the claim, very robust evidence is needed to cause us to reasonably accept said evidence.
While there are certain historical eras that have minimal corrobrating sources (although not so few as you make out), the claims made therein are nothing extraordinary. As such they have a much lower bar to be considered credible.
Those are the main parts of my argument. I would like to see you specifically address those. Not broad dismissals, mind, but specific rebuttals. Do so without comment about me personally or atheists in general.
Time for a fresh start. You be kind to me and i'll be kind to you. Fair?
I think this is a pretty ignorant statement you have made, typical of a fundamentalist who believes everything he wants to believe. Are we actually talking about natural selection here in which case I think you'll find most people will believe in it . Or are we talking about the idiotic nothing created something argument which is so beloved of fundamentalist atheists ? You are typical of the sort of people who think they know the answer yet don't even understand the question
You have not put down one single argument for your position
lol you're right. Because we haven't gotten far enough to make arguments for or against anything. Because every time i raise a subject of debate, your tuck your tail and run! Because you know you can't meet me head on. Because you know your position is weak.
I'm not winning the argument, genius. It's just that you're forfeiting 😏
Aaaanyway, you're just going to keep trying to save face while refusing point blank to actually engage on any subject of debate so... thanks for making evolution look more and more legitimate by your fear of contesting it and Buh bye, coward😁😁😁
Oh dear. What delusion. Thinks he knows the answer when he doesn't even understand the question. Thinks other peopke are ducking out of the argument when he hasn't even ducked into it. What a waste of time trying to reason with people like you is! @Pikachu
I rejected the theory many years ago because it was not good science. It was religion with scientific terminology. The facts when looked at with dispassionate eyes indicate design not accident. Since evolution is based on the premise that the cosmos and everything in it including all the life in all its various forms that we see on earth are the result of fortuitous accidents.
Some people are just blinde to the truth. We have bones that are thousands of year's old. Humans have changed over time. Just imagine our biggest animals today was at one time the size of a dog. We can follow human bones to a type of ape that once lived. I am sure they was once a different kind of animal and just keeps changing over time. I am sure we will be different in a million or so year's from now
Your problem is that you haven't the faintest idea how life began in the first place so how I can you try and put your 'nothing made something' theory against anything when you don't know if it could ever begin ? It's absolutely pathetic that you cannot see that or rather I think you just choose to ignore it is inconvenient@Pikachu
Aaaand speedy backs down from yet another challenge. Funny that...
Your problem is that you're afraid to engage on any specific point because you know you're in over your head, yeah? Go ahead and prove me wrong by taking up ANY of those points i raised in my previous post......oh, nothing to say on that subject? lol yeah, thought not😏
put your 'nothing made something' theory against anything when you don't know if it could ever begin ?
Ah and here's ANOTHER problem. lol that, son, is what's known as a strawman fallacy. That's not my argument and you know it isn't. It's just the only thing you feel prepared to attack because you don't really get evolution.
Here's two more challenges for you to add to the list of things you're too intellectually cowardly to debate with me:
1) Make the case that there was ever nothing. To my knowledge, no nothing has ever been observed. Demonstrate that nothing is even possible much less the default state.
2) Explain for the class why it is necessary to know how life began in order to observe the evidence that it has since evolved.
The problem is you haven't a clue what you are on about. You don't apoear to know the difference between natural selection (which had always been taken for granted but which Darwin claimed the credit for) and the sort of evolution that Darwin proposed whereby non-living matter evolved into living cells. Now please: Make the case there was ever something before the Big Bang and that matter is eternal Make the case as to how life can arise from non-living matter The burden of proof is on you not me! @Pikachu
I didn't seek you out. You just have to put something ignorant on where I was posting and so I have told you about your total ignorance . No seeking out . Just a natural response to ignorance@BigbangFACTS
@Pikachu Do you benefit from the use of oil in any way - paint , plastic , medical supplies , GAS ? - yea I thought so - you contribute to the air of today.
Ok, just a thought experiment. Imagine that evolution took a different direction and the Home genus became a backwater with either the Gorilla or Pan genera developing intelligence. I admit that the ability to remain upright for extended periods of time may well have had evolutionary benefits in the past. Moving from forest into grassland would be an example, ability to see predators more easily and also to carry things would make bipedalism an advantage.
However, if things had been different, we wouldn't have the issues with our poor backs and imagine having four opposable thumbs! I don't know how many times I've been doing something and wished that I had a third hand to make things easier. Of course, there would have to be some modifications to the wrists and ankles, but that would be a small evolutionary leap.
