I'm interested in your questions regarding the Theory of Evolution. [Spirituality & Religion]

Evolution is the best, most comprehensive, consistent and predictive theory that exists to explain the diversity of life on this planet...and yet there exists a fringe group who reject it. It is my opinion that this is largely due to ignorance.

With an eye to that, i'd like to answer your questions and criticisms about evolution, layman though i am. 😀👍

I rejected the theory many years ago because it was not good science. It was religion with scientific terminology. The facts when looked at with dispassionate eyes indicate design not accident. Since evolution is based on the premise that the cosmos and everything in it including all the life in all its various forms that we see on earth are the result of fortuitous accidents.

Evolution is a well tested theory that has yet to fail a test. ERVs demonstrate conclusively that chimps and humans had a common ancestor. Evolution has nothing to say about the origin of life or the cosmos. @hippyjoe1955

@redredred Actually common DNA is not indicative of common ancestor anymore than it is indicative of common Creator.

Please educate yourself on the subject of endogenous retroviruses before you respondvto me. Youve demonstrated enough ignorancecas it is.@hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred Yawn. Maybe you should do some thinking instead of being indoctrinated or as you call it 'educated'. You are making a fool of yourself. Again.
redredred · M
You are a willing fool, intentionally ignorant. Youve been led to clear evidence of your persistent error and you reject that for the dubious pleasure of remaining ignorant. You will die stupid. Do so soon and do the cumulative intelligence of the human race a favor. @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred Nope. I used to be an atheist who defended evolution at every step. Then I learned how to think. Evolution is the theory of accidents. It accounts for nothing and means even less.
redredred · M
Nope, youre a dope who simply has his head in the sand and refuses to read up on the most recent work on the subject. Unlike superstitions like religion, research in science continues. @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred And yet you are the one who believes in magic mud. How foolish is that!!!!
redredred · M
Youve clearly ignored my main point that evolution has nothing, NOTHING, to say about the origins of life or the cosmos, a subject Darwin himself considered unknowable. Did you ever actually read anything about the subject? @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred So that being the case how did it start? If it was Created can not the Creator direct what you presume is evolution? Silly you.
redredred · M
who or what created your mythical creator?@hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred You don't understand the cosmos do you.
redredred · M
you didnt answer my question did you?@hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred Actually I did. You just missed it. Sad for you.
redredred · M
You posted a question, not an answer. you still didnt answer my question, did you?@hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred Your question was answered by my question. You don't understand the cosmos and think the eternal must be temporal.
redredred · M
you dont answer a question with questions. Post an answer or admit you cant answer who or what created your mythical creator. Answer it or admit you cant@hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred Answer your own silly question. You don't understand the need for the Eternal. Your problem not mine.
redredred · M
@hippyjoe1955 My answer is you fell for a bone-headed fairy tale. Prove me wrong.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@redredred I don't have to. You can believe in magic mud all you want. I don't care.
@hippyjoe1955

Well i can only disagree with you on the strength of the evidence. Personally find it very compelling and certainly the vast majority of the scientific community does as well.
I'd suggest watching some debates on the subject.
I recommend ones with Aron Ra because i've rarely seen someone who has such a solid understanding of evolutionary mechanisms or grasp of phylogeny and able to so clearly express it.
redredred · M
no you don't because, as we've established, you want to be ignorant. religious fools read one book (or claim to) and think they have all the answers. Scientists read all available information and are the first to admit there is more to know. Got it?@hippyjoe1955
@hippyjoe1955

Maybe you can help me out with something i've never been clear on.

What's the practical difference between magic and miracles?

Since it seems to me that both are generally defined as achieving an end through inexplicable or supernatural means, is the only difference that miracles are from god?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pikachu You don't know?
@hippyjoe1955

Nope.
Hence the question. If you do know then i'd appreciate it if you shared.
Never had this one cleared up for me.
Thanks🙂
