I'm actually good without any assumptions and simply being treated like a person. Those who know me know pretty much everything. Also having an F by your name means a certain level of harassment.

@MarbleMarvel ^^^ this is best answer
I like to maintain an air of mystery.
The number of private messages went down dramatically for me once I removed my age and image from my avatar.
I was getting love interests from the wrong countries. Now nobody wants to screw me. It's great, I feel like a uninteresting loser.... just like in real life.

Why does it matter how old we are?

@atlantic59 I’m sure that sounded much more entertaining and clever in your head
@Ideation indeed, what does it matter that it becomes necessary to lie about it rather than just not display it, particularly when lying about it breaks filters to hide arbitrary age groups, and violates this site's TOS
It looks far less absurd to enter the real age and then not display it on your profile than it does to pretend you're over 100 when everyone knows you aren't

@BlueGreenGrey awww you gonna get grumpy over something that has no effect on you? Typical male. Are you so offended by my arbitrary use of numbers on an obscure website that you wrote me a whole book about it?

Yes, the game is called "guess how old". We all play it silently in our heads and then continue minding our own business.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
Even if they show their age, they can still lie
@HumanEarth That’s right miss.
HumanEarth · 56-60, F
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I can't be a Miss. I'm married
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
No prejudices based on age.
bijouxbroussard · F
The posters who interact with me on a regular basis, as friends, know. It’s really no one else’s business. 🤷🏽♀
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Aside from wanting it private some do it so they can play off being any age and be the anonymous actor while playing can I get in your pants or panties.
beermeplease · M

Softandsweet2 · 31-35, F
Age, country, and sex are often hidden, and those are the things I look for first when someone sends me a pm. I don’t understand it.
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
@Softandsweet2 usually its out of a desire to keep the filth the peddle online from affecting them IRL

Criminals use software tools to mine web sites for information, and often use age to focus their attacks. It's not a game.
Blondily · F
l know how old I am I don't really need a reminder😏lol
atlantic59 · 61-69, M

They hide their age so that they don't get automatically locked out of the game by preferential age restrictions that we can make in our profile privacy section.
For example, we can choose to NOT interact with people who are under 18 or over 65 by simply checking the appropriate box. Those people within that posted age bracket whom we select will automatically be excluded from our feed.
But if nobody posts their age, or if their age is automatically hidden by choice, the system automatically includes them in everyone's feed regardless of their age.
What you end up with are a collection of 13 year olds who are allowed to be on this website, whom are now interacting with 99 year olds who still remember going to school in a horse-drawn carriage 15 years before WWII got started, with the former having nothing in common with anyone who's old enough to vote, while the latter having nothing in common with anyone under 95 considering everyone their own age is already dead.
Sometimes arguments get started on this website between two people who think they're about the same age despite neither of them posting their age, while one of them is actually very elderly and acts like it, while the other is very young and act like it as well.
Yet neither can figure out why the other is being such a dick all the time because neither post their age beside their username which otherwise would reveal their potential dick factor to all concerned, thereby enabling one to avoid the other for very good reason!
