13-year-old uses his "Make A Wish" gift to feed his city's homeless for a year
When Adeola “Abraham” Olagbegi discovered his bone marrow transplant was successful, he was granted any wish of his choice.

But the 13-year-old’s wish was not a trip across the world or the newest gaming console. Instead, he chose to feed homeless people in his hometown of Jackson, Mississippi, for a year.

“I am a person of hope, so when you come against a big mountain, you have to remember you have a big God,” Abraham told CNN affiliate WLBT.

Make-A-Wish Mississippi, which grants wishes to children and teens ages 2-18 who are often battling devastating illnesses, made his wish come true, bringing to life Abraham’s Table, a service that provides meals to the homeless every third Saturday.
The Psalm reference at the bottom of the image is Psalm 34: 8 :
Taste and see that the Lord is good;
blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
This all happened back in 2021-22.
How beautiful. Young people like this make me hopeful, too.

How absolutely wonderful! Feeding people who can't feed themselves is one of my present hobbies. but to see that level of unselfish caring in child of 13 is absolutely awe inspiring!

Many people assume that when we are close to death what we wish for is grand features like travel around the world / finish a bucket list / live like a billionare with all the luxurious and all the money in the world etc.

But what most people come to want is to live another regular day with their normal everyday routines and being able to see their loved ones.

It shows what really matters. What makes life a good life. It's not money. It's not exclusive experiences or expensive travels,
it's love.
@Queendragonfly That's the most perfect and beautiful expression of love and sentiment, I've ever heard in my life. Thank you for this. 🌹🤗🙏🙏🙏

DrWatson · 70-79, M
@smiler2012 His mother made a comment to the effect that parents try to raise their kids to be Godly people, and it is so heartening to find out that in fact they have become exactly that.
