Many people I know in real life think I am smart. It is mainly because I used to read a lot and sometimes use big fancy words.

Well lap it up dont put them right..maybe you are.
Ive just put that out in a question, it will be interesting to see the responses.

That I am incapable of getting angry.
I'm partially to blame, I guess, for preferring to ignore or let go of the slights and rudenessof others and me trying to be positive often. However, when it's blatantly obvious that the attack is personal and deliberate, I then unleash the fiery wildcat in me that puts them in their place . It's funny how they react in shock and disbelief...like,what...aren't I human like you?😂

@SW-User like you I ignore slights or rudeness to me from people that dont know me because those that dont know me to me their opinion doesn't matter to me.

SW-User
@Primnproper They're not worth wasting time on but some need stopping in their tracks, more than anything, it's so they don't do it to others.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SW-User totally agree and im quite happy to get up in their faces if thats whats called for and they need putting back in their place.

That I don't respect them.
Sometimes while discussing, I prefer to openly present my point of view and also expects the same from others. Sometimes I refute to their point so strongly that they think that I am against them. While, in my perception, they and their point in the discussion are two different things. I was talking just against their point, not against them.

@Adogslife get along yes but not at the expense of your own beliefs. I look at it more as choosing your battles wisely. I dont see why having differences of opinions should cause anger.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Primnproper "An argument is when you want to know, Who is right? A discussion is when you want to know, What is right?"
Unfortunately most people just argue, they don't see it as a healthy discussions with some learning outcomes.

@ABCDEF7 very nicely put. No more than i would expect from you my friend..

That I'm mean, or unapproachable.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Iwillwait maybe they’re just bad at reading you.
Iwillwait · M
@Primnproper Well, that's most likely true, or I am being unaware of how I am projecting and need to change.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@Iwillwait we can all be over cautious or wary on occasions.
Alot of people think I'm mean. I'm really like a sweet kitten. 😄
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@YourMomsSecretCrush so you’re just a big teddy bear. 🧸 🙂
bijouxbroussard · F
@YourMomsSecretCrush You’ve always been really cool, from what I’ve seen.
@bijouxbroussard you see past the looks. That means a lot. I always enjoy our talks. Even when we disagree.
I doubt they think about me at all. I'm just not that important. If anything, they may think I am unfriendly because I keep to myself. I am, in fact, very friendly. I just don't seek out social situations or attention. If I am thrust into a social situation, I can handle myself just fine. 😌
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@SmileOnYourBrother that would make you a missed and overlooked treasure which is a shame.
Umile · 41-45, F
There's a lot.
But, unless they matter to me, I'm not gonna waste my time trying to explain it.

That I'm lazy, simply because I have a very casual attitude toward everything. I'm actually a very responsible person.

@calicuz ok then we will take your word for it..😁

I have been told by many of my professional colleagues as well as many of my students, that I am the best there is.
While I admit that some of my teaching methods are what some might consider bizarre or outright crazy, apparently this is the best way my students learn what I teach.
Do I think I'm the best? Not at all. In fact, I try to downplay it as much as possible.

@IM5688 well thats an accolade to you. I think things we teach do need new approaches to keep students engaged.
IM5688 · 61-69, M
@Primnproper I agree, but you'd be surprised at those, (few as they are,) that totally disagree with the way I do things. So much so, that a couple of them actually tried to get me fired.
Primnproper · 56-60, F
@IM5688 well I'm glad they didn't succeed, we more people that teach to be creative with their methods..

That I am far less sensitive than I really am.
In truth I feel things deeply. But I generally show the world very little of my inner self…what is going on in my head and heart.
I leaned when I very young, that projecting an outward stoicism, protected me. What others couldn’t touch, they couldn’t harm.

Misconceptions: That I'm a know it all; that I see the world through rose colored glasses; that I am sweet.
In fact, I'm none of the above. I know quite a bit...just not all! I do know about the corruption in the world, and I choose to believe we can correct some of it.
I am definitely NOT sweet. I am practical most times, and I get angry when people and things don't behave as I expect they will. I get especially angry with people who whine for help and then do absolutely nothing to change if and when I try to help them.

I don't care, they can think whatever they want. I owe them nothing.

@HootyTheNightOwl then explain about the triggers and the angst it causes you and on that you would hope she would support you.
@Primnproper I tried that... it just leads to whataboutism.
It's not the only abuse we endured - but it was the worst traumatically speaking for me, mostly because I tried to shield them from it as much as possible.
"Fair enough "dad" did that to you - but step dad hit me for this trivial reason" Yeah, but I spent most of those years confined to my bedroom aside from the access visits with "dad" because step dad and I would constantly fight and argue.
There's also the issue that I wasn't safe at school either.

@HootyTheNightOwl wwll you should remind her its not a contest and everyone reacts differently to trauma. If she continues to use your old name dont answer when she does she will soon learn.

That because I am shy or kind, people feel over time they can be rude, cross boundary or take advantage of me. I'm assuming they view kindness as weakness.

@Coralmist then make sure you put them right hunni. I used to get that but not anymore.

@TallMtnMedic why not, do you prefer to be viewed as bad boys, does that not just feed into stereotype egos, which to women are not so attractive. I dont know I'm just curious.
