@PoetryNEmotion it's like a hallmark holiday. Only done for someone else's marketing purposes many generations ago. Occasional tax benefit, certain tax drawbacks. The ability to say "it took years to realize how much of a mistake it was and then we had to get divorced" instead of "wasn't working, we aren't together"
@Justafantasy I disagree. You are negative because of experience? That is sad. Love can be lasting. You mention only money benefits. You don't know how to love someone? Or someone who loved you was unsuitable? Irrelevant. No one approaches a closed heart. Be content then. And alone. If that is what makes you happy, go for it. I know the benefits of it as well as the flaws. And I still support the idea of marriage. Good day.
Back in the 1980s the girls I hung around with and dated. Thought it would be fun (or funny) and show me these catalogs. Have have me pick things I liked out them. This all started because I would always said how much I liked their clothes.
Then we all go to the go the physical store and buy them. I had a blast hanging with girls and going shopping. Then going back to the house and playing dress up with them.
Dressing up with them sometimes lead to partying and sex. So getting drunk, wearing womens clothing in front of people was becoming normal and comfortable
This is what was the major kick off and the curse of life long crossdressing. That I nick name the "Crossdressing Disease"

That marriage would be wedded Bliss. I thought getting married meant you found the love of your lifetime; very sadly was I duped and mislead by that one.
Not me but someone I know. A guy professed his love for her, talked about marriage, then he disappeared into thin air. We found out later on he was a con artist and had shacked up with a man. She was heart broken.
The next most absurd thing would be that feelings are things that infect the pursuit of truth. That they are worthless. That was a painful lesson to learn and an extra painful lesson to unlearn.
