Israel or Palestine? Who do u support??

Top | New | Old
BlueVeins · 22-25
I think it's an odd question. Israel is a country with its own government, whereas Palestine is a land area of disputed size and shape, connected to an ethnicity of people and a few competing organizations that claim to represent it. I support the right of all civilians to live in peace, in their homeland. The warfare and terrorism needs to stop on both sides, the civilian hostages need to be released on both sides, Hamas needs to recognize Israel, the blockade needs to be lifted, and Israel needs to let Palestinians back into their homeland.

In pursuit of those goals, I most closely align with the PLO.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@BlueVeins does the PLO exist in reality anymore? There is the Palestinian Authority that has at some time sought real peace.
JSul3 · 70-79
I support the people of Israel.
I support the people of Palestine.

I do not support Hamas.
I do not support Netanyahu.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@JSul3 I agree totally.
@JSul3 This.
I agree with Zohran Mamdani. Israel should continue existing, but it should be a democratic state where everyone has equal rights. I don't support Israel as a Jewish Ethnostate, just like I wouldn't support Palestine as an Arab Ethnostate.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@BohemianBabe there are several Palestinian political parties that hold seats in the Israeli Knesset . Lots of Palestinians vote in Israel elections .
@AthrillatheHunt That's only the Palestinians that were born in Israel but outside of Gaza or the West Bank. It's a common divide and conquer strategy, especially common in countries where the targeted group is an especially big minority. For example, there were so many Jews in Nazi Germany that the Nazis couldn't realistically imprison everyone with Jewish ancestry. So if a German was half or less Jewish, they were exempt. But again, those exceptions did not negate the fact that it was an apartheid society.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@BohemianBabe yes exactly. Palestinians have political parties and vote in Israeli elections .

“An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.”

In this war, it’s the people on both sides who suffer the most. I don’t think the conflict will end soon; when geopolitics take over, real resolution becomes a distant dream. Peace gets buried under power plays and interests far removed from the lives of those directly affected.
I have empathy for the suffering in both places. Right now, there is far more suffering happening in Palestine.

YoMomma · 41-45
I support respect for Israel and reform for Gaza .. i don't support islamic hate and slurs against Israelis
helenS · 36-40, F
Israel, unconditionally. I'll always do what I can do.
I’m conditioned to think Israel I’m more on side with because there is so much hate about them and the whole thing with Hamas as well. Now who is really in the right and wrong between Israel and Palestine I don’t really get involved.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
Neither. My concern is always for people, and there are a lot of innocent people who have suffered and will continue suffering as long as these two remain in conflict
Based upon the settlers moving into the Gaza, the police actions and Netanyahu, I support Palestine. I respect the Israeli people but not some of the things that Israel has done as a country. 🥺
I support the innocent people that did not ask for this conflict ...
On both sides
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Both and neither; it's a complex question. Israel has the right to exist, but the Palestinian people have a right to a homeland, too. Part of the problem is that while Israel does have an actual ancient history, "Palestine" never existed as a nation until it was artificially created by the British and the UN.
I support a settled, peaceful region with a two-state solution negotiated in good faith.
Imsleepy · 31-35
I support whatever leads to ceasing the loss of innocent lives.

Humans on both sides. The people who just want to live in peace.

who/what do you define as Palestine!
helenS · 36-40, F
@YoMomma If the people in Gaza decided to live their life in peace and freedom henceforth, I'm convinced that the "friends of the Palestinian people" would turn their back on them immediately.
YoMomma · 41-45
@helenS they are sheep in wolves clothing aka pro bloody terrorist hiding behind a political cause 😏
ArtieKat · M
@helenS I'm reminded of the alleged comment made by the late Golda Meir, the legendary Israeli PM, who said that peace could only prevail in the region when the Arabs learned to love their children more than they hate the Israelis.

Our Bible says the following: (God addressing the people of Israel): Genesis 12:3
"I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Isaiah the Prophet addressing the people of Israel:

Isaiah 60:12 "For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish; those nations shall be utterly laid waste."

Isaiah 41:11-12 "Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all."

@nudistsueaz israel
nudistsueaz · 61-69, F
@WolfNight8 Well, that answers that.
ThePatientAnarchist · 61-69New
The people of both. The government of neither.
@ThePatientAnarchist I agree, but it's important to remember that Palestine isn't a country with a government. It's two regions within Israel. The blame for both the genocide and the rise of Hamas is firmly on the government of Israel.
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
The killing should stop
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@tobynshorty you will not get an argument about that.
Nobody · 18-21, FNew
It's clear that Israel wants its ancient borders back and a one religion state running the show. It's hard to choose a side: the terrorist or the tyrant.
WolfNight8 · M
Israel .........Palestine never existed
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
The real people being terrorized by war-mad power hungry oligarchs who feel their particular sky daddy gives them the right to be monsters to "the oppressor"
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@WolfGirlwh0r3 wow, that is ignoring thousands of years of history. I am speaking about the current terrible situation.
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
@samueltyler2 Talk about ignorance
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@WolfGirlwh0r3 i don't understand your comment. If you think there was ever really peace in that region, please tell me when!
