Why lust/sex is considered bad by society?

Especially religions, traditions and culture !

In theory it's because it makes you focus on the pleasures of the flesh and this world, rather than on Jesus. And culture is built on religion

Personally I don't see that my enjoyment of sex impacts my relationship with God, I have thought straight after an intense orgasm, how amazing my body is and how awesome is the God who made me able to do that.

I don't see sex as sinful at all, only if you are doing something that will cause pain to others - lusting after somebody else's husband and encouraging them to be more interested in you than their wife is bad.

Buts just enjoying your body, masturbation, even flirting with people. I don't think that's wrong.

I did. Doesn't make sense to me. No sexual attraction to others? It's weird.

From a religious point of view, its because its concidered giving into your earthly desires. It separates you from being in tune with spirit and keeps you focused on a linear materialistc mind set. Hence why alot of people are addicted to money and reject thier family if they have too much or kill themselves when they have none. Those are extreme examples obviously.

From a traditional prospective it destroys the family dynamic. Your less inclined to have children because your chasing the feeling rather than the purpose of procreation or end up with children when your not ready. Both of these dictate how the next generation will be.

As you can see, we have become more and more fucked up every generation because of our addiction to material and feelings.

@sahi81 of course. But its how you go about it.

Its natural for a man to be attracted to a woman but are you going to win her respect and create love? Or take it by force and create fear. Could you go without it or crave it no matter the cost?

@GuyWithOpinions can we talk in private if you don't mind?
GuyWithOpinions · 31-35, M
@sahi81 sure.
SisterShadow · 18-21, F
before there was birth control you couldnt have people just randomly fuck around all day to keep society going
sahi81 · 26-30, F

It's not if that's what both parties are interested in.

@MsSwan

In Degs's case, he's the only one interested. 🤭

And then one needs to define what sex really is. Is the only sex permissible where an attempt is made to fertilize an egg? Is physical pleasure not allowed during the act?

What makes it "bad"? Is it because it causes the breakdown of the family? Children without two parents, the spread of STDs? The poor treatment of women and people that are lgbtq.
IsawDDevil · 36-40, M
that's not true its only consider bad when they killed the embryoid.
Bewilderbeeste · 70-79, M
It's only the religious types who consider it bad where I live.
Not bad — that’s how you were made by your parents.

“Bad” is relative to one’s judgment of what is good.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
I assume that the idea started as a form of population control. Through most of human history, we've faced scarcity, so overpopulation in a region was a huge problem. Like everything, an idea that started for a practical reason evolved into dogma.

Just a guess.
ninalanyon · 70-79, TVIP
@DunningKruger Surely for most of human history humans were relatively few in number compared to the number of animals and fruits available to eat. So in those days there was no need to limit population. If food became scarce in one place you could just move to another.

But when you have agriculture and the beginnings of technology combined with a population that is no longer nomadic, then population growth begins to be relevant.

But that's only about ten thousand years ago, a small fraction of the three hundred thousand years of human history

My guess :-)
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@ninalanyon And how long do you think restrictions on sex have been around?

it's not in a proper context; just in an improper one..

Some people have very little going for them in life and are obsessed with feeling superior to others, so they just come up with dumb, arbitrary bullshit reasons to justify it.
