Why lust/sex is considered bad by society?

And then one needs to define what sex really is. Is the only sex permissible where an attempt is made to fertilize an egg? Is physical pleasure not allowed during the act?

What makes it "bad"? Is it because it causes the breakdown of the family? Children without two parents, the spread of STDs? The poor treatment of women and people that are lgbtq.
