Somebody just sent me a text stating they put me down for a job reference...

It turned out to not be a scam. Just someone that I don't talk to and vice versa, who wants to use me for a reference. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Just do the good thing and say they were great when they phone you

I’ve found numbers by searching a number on WhatsApp if you use it. Sometimes it tells you the name the number is associated with or occasionally it’s just initials of a name. I put in search and didnt even need the number to text me on WhatsApp directly just by text message on phone. You could also attempt to find the number on social media.

Why don’t you want to ask who it is? And why didn’t they ask your permission?

Ummm "I lost my contacts list recently, who is this?"

I have messaged back and said " Sorry to sound rude, but there's a glitch on my phone at the moment. Who is this?"

do a reverse phone number search

Don't, but trace the number and if it goes to unlisted, block it. It could be a stalker. Hope not. 😟

Do not respond. Block then delete the number.
