Somebody just sent me a text stating they put me down for a job reference...

BUT...their number isn't saved in my phone. The way they are speaking, it sounds like I actually know them but I don't want to say " who is this"?

@iamnikki you can Google how people have had issues with their contacts list not being backed up or lost during transfers to a new phone

It's an excuse that fixes your issue with addressing this person
