How old were you when you first had a drink?

My parents kept alcohol in the house. They didn't actually drink, themselves, except when they entertained...but I remember seeing movies on television where adults DRANK when they became upset about things.

I was 16 when one of my teachers asked me to tutor one of his younger students, and the boy developed a horrifying stalker crush on me. I didn't know how to handle my own upset emotions at the way he was behaving. I didn't want to hurt him, but his behavior was really terrible.

So, one day when things got beyond bad, I filled up a 16 oz glass with vodka, and then because I knew nothing about alcohol, I added a splash of cranberry juice, and drank the whole thing down.

By the time my mother got home from work I was puking into a bucket beside my bed.😢😢😢 I asked my teacher the next day to please remove me as a tutor.

A few sips of watered down wine on special occasions going back as far as I can remember, which is around 4. But seriously, not until college and then not until nearly my junior year when I was 19 or so. You still couldn't buy alcohol at all within a mile of campus in those days no matter your age, most did not have cars. It's hard to believe I avoided alcohol in the high school considering some of the guys I hung out with, but I don't recall any drinking then.

I was 5. I had a bad flu with fever and everything, and my Grandma gave me a mixture of red wine, egg yolk and sugar.
It was helpful I have to say. I felt excellent after 😏

Gosh, when I was young (4-5 yrs) when my dad ask me to go grab him a beer I would pop the top and steal a sip before delivering it to him...LOL. My first 'official' drink would have been around 14, my mom let me have a small glass of champagne for New Year's Eve that year.

I don't see the big deal giving you a little cup?

My dad gave me some from time to time when I was little, but I first got drunk when I was 13.

A drink or a sip? I didn't dink beer till i was over 30+ but my mom's friend gave me wine when i was a teen, just a sip serving she had with meals

16. My friend’s parents drank wine with their dinner, teenagers included.They were European.

When I was in college, the drinking age had been lowered to 19 so I was able to drink then, too.

My parents used to let us have half a glass if wine with our Christmas dinner from about the age of 8 onwards.

Then I stared drinking beer at 16.

In college. I didn't really drink then, but my fraternity brothers would use me as a test case. They would mix "punch" for picnics with their dates, and they wanted to make sure it wasn't too strong. I would taste it until the alcohol was undetectable. That could be a lot of taste tests.

Probably 9 or 10....Dad gave me a 'hot toddie' whiskey and honey for toothache!! Uuuhg!!!😝

I was in Jr. High School. I was with a friend and we got into his Italian grandfather's homemade "Dago Red" wine. It didn't end well. 🤮

First time tasting was probably about 8 or 9. First time properly drinking was about 15. We stole a bottle of gin from my friend's mum and drank that.

I had a sip of beer pretty young but didn't drink a full real drink until my freshman year of high school with my Irish friend lol

Oh Jesus. It was Christmas 2009. I was 17. My stomach still turns when thinking about it.

I think 13. My dad let me sip a margarita at a concert.

i was like 3 or 4 too i think lol. i drank some of one of my grandfather's beers he left open on the coffee table lol. i remember the room started spinning lol.

I was allowed a small glass of wine every Sunday from the time I was about ten.

About 5 years old I was given a few sips of wine hell at 13 my dad gave me a case of Coors told me to take the boat and go fishing
