Strangers often assume I'm helpless or even lost when I'm out in public by myself because I use a wheelchair, lol.

Yes, here's a weird one. That I "should" like to hookup with hot random people because of my good looks. I don't get that one. What does it matter how I look, I'm still demisexual and I hate random hookups with strangers. Always have always will.

It's like some people can't understand that not everyone is into that.

I have facial piercings and visible tattoos. Even at 44, I’m younger than most of my customers. Many of them are surprised when they find out that I’m the store owner, or that I actually know what I’m talking about. Especially when they learn that I’m also the “repair person”.

People at Home Depot and Lowes will ask me questions like they think I work there. I assume it’s because I look like Al Borland from Home Improvement.

bizarrely I have had random people assume my politics are far right because I have a bunch of military surplus stuff.

A good friend ran a surplus store for like 5 or 6 years and where else am I going to get leather boots for $25 a winter coat good down to -45C for 40 and a backpack that is practically indestructible and waterproof for 40 dollars.

Not going to spend 500 on the coat and 500 on the civilian versions of the rucksack just because it only comes in green from my friend's shop. lol

That I’m sweet and wimpy, but I am tough and can be nasty when necessary.

Depends on how I'm dressed. If I'm in my work-out garb, I look rough.

Otherwise I'm always business casual.

They think I'm a sweet grandma because of my grey hair and quiet demeanor.

But I have no kids, no grandkids, and I am definitely not sweet all the time. I have a sharp tongue if you come at me, and I am not afraid to just never talk to someone again if they continuously disrespect me.
