What is something you always wanted or wanted to do as a kid?

i thought i had it all as a kid and i actually did for the most part...loving parents, good homes etc. but when i reflect back on my life i guess i could say i wanted my mother to have a happier upbringing and to have better mental health care throughout her life. not a lot was known about depression or anxiety and throughout my teenage years and into adulthood it was clear she needed help but good help was not easily found....it wasn't until much later in her life doctors figured out the right meds for her but she basically lived a nightmare for over 60 years of her life...knowing what i know now and as i reflect on things i appreciate my mom's amazing efforts in raising me until she passed 2 days prior to my 51st birthday

Having mum or dad around every single day rather than just during the holidays (I went to a boarding school for the children of service personnel). Two of my sisters and I now form an extended family in our town and make up for lost time by being very close to our children.

Pretty much the same thing I would want today, but don't have, I'd like to suddenly become extroverted and not be shy.
And no, I cannot have that today, shyness is not something you can just throw off and you can't just suddenly become extroverted.
I guess it might have helped if people understood anxiety back in the day, but they didn't and you were painfully aware that you didn't fit in and we're always going to be the awkward/ uncomfortable one at the party.

A no-rush road trip to California where we would stay in cabins along the way, stop at the little touristy sites and take photos and look for fossils or other things for souvenirs. And stop at a restaurant once in a while for a burger or other meal. And at the final destination go to an ocean beach and spend a couple of days looking for shells and playing.

I wanted to have a relationship with my biological father, but he didn't want me in his life.

To have a pool at home in which I could swim. I'm too poor to grant this to myself, lol. 😆 And the desire isn't even that strong anymore.

Climb a tree. It's a simple thing but has a lot behind it.

I wanted to be loved. Didn't happen then. Still hasn't. Finished with that pipe dream.

I wanted walkie talkies

I also wanted to go to Netherwood school in NB (now called Rothesay Netherwood)

A real family instead of foster care.

Go to a waterpark. I think that one is the biggest lost cause no way am i getting in that water now
