How do you keep track of your bills?

My spouse does it because he's a controlling narcissist who doesn't want to pay for a divorce and wants to control 'our' [my] finances. What's mine is his. What's his, is his. My account is zeroed monthly to pay the mortgage.

Excel, but if you wanna make it real easy get a credit card with a decent balance and put everything on that one card and then just pay off your credit card at the end of the month. Set that to auto pay. Just make sure your usage doesn’t go above 20% and you’ll build credit at the same time.

First thing you have to do is get you a credit card, please don't use debit cards to pay for anything. If you have bad credit and can't get a secured credit card get a unsecure that will pay you some type of incentive. Then pay all your bill, with your credit card. Look at you billing cycle on your credit card and pay all your balance off 3 days before your billing cycle ends. If your not able to pay off at one time. Then pay it off every two weeks just make sure it is paid off 3 days before your billing cycle ends. This will do two specially important things for you. 1. It will pay you some incentive for using the credit card, 2. It will help you build your credit if it needs building. Want to clarify some of the information. I sent you reply back with any questions. I know that seems like a lot. But if your able to do it you will thank yourself later. And please stock using your debit card.

Pay bills online but track each bill in a spreadsheet. Balance/Minimum Due/Payment Made cloumns for each month with a new tab and start over January of each year.

I only know two. We check in with each other from time to time.

Direct Debits. All listed, the whole total knocked off of our bank balance at the end of each month in our own Cash Book records. One or two monthly charges are on our Credit Card, the whole balance on the Card paid itself by Direct Debit on the 25th of each month. We reconcile our Bank Balance (according to our Cash Book) with our monthly bank statement each month.

No wonder there was no running water this morning!!!

Why do Americans have to complicate everything!?

I have a "tickler" system...the bills are arranged according to due date, and the ones that are due within a week or two are paid (either online or by check). I check frequently to see what bills are due soon.

for the recurring ones, I have them auto deducted. For the big, infrequent ones, I try and pay with credit card for cash back. Anything else (which is mostly medical), I just pay with debit the day I'm billed.

🤔..........Excel spreed sheet for all my recurring monthly bills / expenses going back to 2008. Last 15 years total is $260,000..........Not including food, gas, entertainment, vacations........etc,

I have most of my recurring payments set up on autopay with my bank.
When I charge something on a card I put the receipt in my wallet and go online to pay it asap.
I never wait for a statement

I just pay them.

I often avoid paying bills. Other times i had my electric meter on the fiddle.
I paid no water bill or tv licence for 35 years.
It's more important that i and my loved ones eat.

I have a excel spreadsheet...shows monthly bills and due dates. A place to enter your income. Right now it is set up through 2028. I have given it out to so many ppl

I put all of my bill notifications in a separate email folder so I can keep track but I have the times they need paid memorized. Or I just use auto pay

Online. Most are autopay out of checking. Only very occasionally do I have to move investment money into checking to cover.

I actually don't. The wife mostly handles outflow and I mostly handle income with crossover as situation allows or requires.

All my bills are due the day I get paid every months, so I pay them all that day then do grocery hopping for the next month.

This office sent me to collections over a 2 dollar bill once and that had me take it seriously ever since

I created an access db, everything goes in it... Probably a bit of overkill but fun to do and with some macros and different reports i can pull up anything i need to find real quick

I just keep them in a pile on my desk where I can see them. I still pay by check in the mail because I'm old and I think bill paying should be slow and painful.

Bank on the 1st of the month so every bill is paid and I know what I’ve got left for the month

I just have a to do list of bills I pay every month with due dates mentioned.

I mark them done once the bill is paid.

All my bills are paid by direct debit. As long as none of my services are disconnected, I don't think about them.

Write all my spending down in a little book and subtract from income including bills each month

Rent and phone by direct debit, all the rest get paid on-line the day I receive them.

We have all the big important ones pay automatically. Only couple we have to hand pay.

As soon as they post, I'll pay them or within the next week. I never wait til the due date.

I don't. My husband is better than I am in that area and I am grateful I don't have to do that chore. Our credit rating is 808.

i dont. the credit card companies call me saying "when are you going to make a payment" and then i just hang up because i don't have money

Most of them get paid thru the bank atm when they are due

Some are on auto pay, some I have set reminders for.

I right everything down then file them in my little file cabinet
