The idea of me feeling "scared" by someone like Donald Trump is laughable. Granted, if he did have a fully functional brain he might be considered a danger to himself and others.
In normal situations a sociopathic narcissist has the potential to be a danger. Trump has several disabilities that limit the kind of damage he is capable of. His pathological lying has allowed him and his kids to grossiy over-inflate property values to increase credit limits etc. but this fraud has been identified and is being dealt with.
He has painted himself into a legal corner with his grandiose ideations and supernatural "presidential powers" regarding the documents he actually believes he can declassify mentally, and even if the absurdity is true, there are still procedures for declassification he blatantly ignored. He has NO self-awareness, or any clear awareness of the real world around himself so anyone can plant absurd ideas in his head and he accepts them as truths, even though most everyone realizes they are off the wall impossibilities they humor him and allow him to self-sabotage himself legally over and over again.
Since he has a reputation for vindictiveness, not paying for services, allowing others to take a fall for him yet never returning loyalty or helping those who have remained loyal. His so-called "inner-circle" grows weaker and smaller with each passing week.
He imagines his "base" will remain intact no matter what and has no intention of doing anything but making himself richer and hasn't ONE single political goal that will further the American people, his base, the economy, or the environment. His aole purpose in life is to enrich Donald Trump, increase his power, and become the kind of ruthless dictator he looks up to and admires.
This could all be rather disturbing if he didn't have the temperament of a 12 year old. His "Loyal base" are primarily poorly educated, mentally dull normal folks living at or just below the poverty line. Once they realize he has no intention of increasing the quality of anyones life their adulation will turn to rage and they will become even more unhinged then they already are.
So much for his strengths, next time I get a chance I'll line item some of his major weaknesses. In the meantime, I would worry more about someone like Ron DeSantis. Trump won't be the first nor the last to imagine himself Gods appointed Messiah. That isn't a crushing threat.
Democrats have to resort to fear to get people to vote for them because their policies are awful. That, and concocting "crimes" committed by anyone who dares to oppose them. DeSantis, Trump, Zeldin in New York - all "under criminal investigation" for having the unmitigated gall to oppose the filthy Democrats.
Trump is nothing like Jesus. He doesn't even care for the sick and poor or about feeding the homeless and he talks about building walls instead of welcoming and helping migrants.

You should have paid attention in high school civics classes. Only citizens of the United States of America are Americans. People in other countries are French, Canadians, Mexicans, Cubans, Panamanians, Colombians, Brazilians, Peruvians, Uruguayans, Argentinians, Chileans, Bolivians, Ecuadorians, Venezuelans but they are not Americans and the indigenous people in those countries are not "Native Americans." They had nothing to do with the creation of America.

he doesn't scare me as much as the neo-cons, evangelists, etc., that form his followers, they are really wingnuts. The world is moving in the direction of nationalism, much like Europe in the late 1920s into 30s. I am deeply concerned. I understand that things are pendulums, but, I am too old to be able to be optimistic that I will live to see the swing back to humanitarianism.
