What religion openly accepts LGBT+?

I mean, why don’t they all?
Help thy neighbour…and all that.

And.... that's a big reason I'm atheist

Good point @RoxClymer

@NotNowJoanna God made us in his image, and that's the only image a lot of church-goes accept

I don't know what religions accept it, but do know that some do not because it goes against what is in the Bible.
You can help a neighbor without agreeing with all a neighbor does.
Most religions try to control anything that has to do with your genitals because it is jealous of the power and control that sex and love has over people. It wants that power. So instead of improving itself it tries to use sex as a means of control so that even if they can't eliminate it, it can at least be under religion's power.

If you have the goal of getting people into the Kingdom of Heaven and the Bible says that the sexual deviants such as homosexuals etc can not enter said Kingdom would you be helping or hurting by supporting LGBT? I watched a 'bishop' I could tell it was an Anglican bishop by the large wooden cross and clerical collar worn wander out of the liquor store with a bottle in a brown bag. Said bishop got the the pickup she was driving jumped in gave her girlfriend a big kiss on the lips and drove off. The Anglican church has very very few members left. It seems no one wants to hear their woke theology.

Unitarians do.

Love the sinner..
Hate the sin..

Accept the sinner..
Reject the sin..

If ones idea of acceptance means one must embrace and celebrate the sin then one is pushing a religion of deception..

I don't get it if love is part of religion why do they get so strict on who you can love

@SW-User I agree with you, to a certain extent.

It's in the old Testament, in the Bible, where they call the people of Sodom and Gomorrah and their practices abominations.

They also believed, in those days, that if you ate pork you could absorb devils into your body. From our more enlightened perspective, we now know that the "devils" were trichinosis, but Orthodox Jews would rather die than have a pig's heart transplanted into their body...(a common transplant choice).

I think we did experience a warning in the form of the AIDS epidemic, so there probably WERE and still ARE valid health reasons for those ancient writings.

These are the same sorts of primitive beliefs that cause the people of fundamentalist religions of all sorts to commit their own abominations, in the mistaken belief that they are following the word of God...(or Allah).

Hate is NOT part of the New Testament, and it is not what Jesus Christ died to teach us.
None of the Abrahamic ones do, and those are the only ones I'm somewhat familiar with, can't really speak for anything else.

Though I have heard of indigenous belief systems from Hawaii, Canada, and a few other countries I can't remember, that either celebrate or accept nonbinary and nonheterosexual people as natural to some degree. Of course much of that has been lost due to colonization.
What do you mean by "accept"?

The churches I have attended accept everybody not carrying weapons

And many churches have accepted those carrying weapons
@questionWeaver I think she’s just looking for somewhere that people aren’t told that they will suffer eternal damnation and be burned in hell, simply for being LGBTQ. Sin in general, is a whole different discussion. Be well, my friend.
@DarkHeaven
Thank you ... for that criteria, none of the Catholic or Episcopal churches I have attended have had either members or clergy espouse that.

As far as sin, like you said, we all are sinners and I am strong competition there.

They all stay inside the Gospel ... of love, hope, joy, grace, faith, mercy, charity, healing, kindness and the 1st two commandments ... love God and Love each other.

I can say I have never been present for a damnation sermon.

As always, appreciative of your kindness and gentleness!
@questionWeaver I agree. Some are more accepting of alternative lifestyle but as to the LGBTQ damnation stuff, that tends to be more a thing of certain Protestant churches and not something I have ever seen inside a Catholic Church.

I'm pretty sure Pastafarianism does!
Theistic Satanism (I don’t consider LaVeyans real satanists) have no issue with it. Religion, especially the Abrahamic ones are about control. I follow Tiamat (the belief system basically has no rules), God put humans here to worship him. There is no other reason for your existence than to do what you’re told in the eyes of God.
bugeye · 26-30, F
Satanism funnily enough is very pro lgbt. it only asks that everyone involved is capable of and does give consent.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
None of them actually do. Even those who claim to don't. Evil hates even itself.
Unity Church, if you’re looking for a Christian church.
Candie · F
ive heard of Christian churches that do.
TheotherAndy · 41-45, M
I like the way you think :P
