I really need some good advice. My spiritual advisor advised me not to get a divorce

My children are all grown up. Should I really still be sacrificing my happiness for my children?

You did your part and stayed until your kids were grown up. If that was I good idea I do not know because staying together the kids also saw that and the affect on you. But now you have to look out for yourself because its your life and whats make's you happy. Do you want to be the person that broke up the marrage well the marrage was broken already you and just ending it and moving on. But things to get ready for do you work do you have your own bank account do you have life insurance do you own the house you are living in. Do not fight over small things the end game is to get out. If you have life insurance you will have to change the benificarire to your estate

I think that is the reason that has kept me in this marriage for so long, at least mostly.

@Lindie507880 Well I use to be against divorce but now I am all for it because its whats best for the kids if you stay well they see all that and that can cause damanage to the kids so could leaving but by leaving you get to start fresh a new life.

@Lindie507880 You did not answer do you work? because if you do not find a job get your own bank account

I’m confused. Why would a spiritual advisor not be supportive of your happiness? You obviously sacrificed for the sake of your children so now it’s time to take care of yourself.

If you got advice from what I assume is a trusted source for yourself and you are looking for other opinions because you did not like the advice given I think you already know what you should be doing. It seems like you are asking for permission rather than advice.

And you're right

@Lindie507880 That would have been my advice too

I wish you luck, but if your spiritual advisor's advice is making miserable, perhaps it's time to switch to some other spiritual advisor.

He is just trying to save our marriage, I suppose. Not going to judge him for that.
Redstar · 36-40, M
@Lindie507880 It sounds like he's doing a bad job by giving you bad advice. It's okay to judge him for this.
Miram · 31-35, F
He is likely your husband's spiritual advisor as well. And giving advice that serves his other client.

Let me do some spiritual michmichmuchaa.

After connecting to 99th dimension I conclude you need to find yourself someone who can bless you with a proper Wohoooo!!!
You will forever be an inspiration to your children and grandchildren. Having said that, imyaware that these things are. often much more complex than that 1 issue
I'd think that depends on what efforts you've put in to fix things and how much value you see in the marriage.
Lindie507880 · 46-50, F
More than most women would I think 😔
@Lindie507880 ultimately it's something you have to decide for yourself, if you think what you have can be steered towards something you want, how much effort that would take, and if you think the other people connected can/will/want to.

You should not sacrifice your happiness, however sometimes we may find that having a thing is not so pleasing as wanting a thing. Where is the true source of your happiness?
Lindie507880 · 46-50, F
Don't even know how to answer that
No. You deserve some joy.
YoungPoet345 · 26-30, F
You could try marriage or relationship counseling.
Lindie507880 · 46-50, F
Don't think it's going to help. How will counseling change his sexual desires 😔

@Lindie507880 why divorce and what happened?
Lindie507880 · 46-50, F
His sexual online activity over the past couple of years, but what is pushing me mostly for divorce is his sexual interaction with other men
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
@Lindie507880 if that’s the case do what you need to do to be happy.
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
What are u sacrificing?
Lindie507880 · 46-50, F
For myself or my marriage?
smileylovesgaming · 31-35, F
@Lindie507880 I say both. Even if u got a divorce so u even work or do u have any money for food or bills
Lindie507880 · 46-50, F
That's my biggest problem, unfortunately.
