i see women praise each other often. men don't really do that to each other..
ThunderbirdR6 · 36-40, F
@VladG94 there is a difference of haveing the urge to compete and just being jealous
VladG94 · 31-35, M
@ThunderbirdR6 Sometimes just being jealous and urge to compete can also go hand-to-hand with eachother, since men are more active and women are more passive about things too.
ThunderbirdR6 · 36-40, F
@VladG94 exactly thats the difference women mostly dont want to compete out of being jealous like men could use this to compete

When we dated in high school, my wife was jealous of any girl who showed an interest in me. Once she got to college and started dating others, her jealousy stopped. I was terribly jealous when she was dating others in college, but once we became engaged, the jealousy stopped. Once we married, I have seen no evidence of jealousy on my part or hers. So I don't know the answer to the question.

I tend to agree that it's not gender specific. It depends on which member of any relationship is playing. Who EVER it is, the other member in the relationship will probably become jealous...because that's the whole point that players WANT to bring across...that they are valued.

I think we're both about equal we just express it differently.

@Longpatrol We weep bitter tears. They have knives.
MY experience? Women, but I get jealous too sometimes and I don't see anything heinous or egregious about it from either side.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Depends on the society/culture. Western societies, men tend to hide the emotion, yet react aggressively.
Women tend to not hide it, yet react non aggressively. Not exactly passively though

This is not so in all societies. Nor in all subcultures.

Take japanese culture, women are generally passive. Though it's becoming less so recently.

Idk, but my girlfriend is jealous of how much attention I give my dog
ScreamingFox · 41-45, F
I have no idea, but I observed, while working in a men's prison, that men are more likely to murder as a crime of passion.
Ferric67 · M
I don't necessarily see this as a gender specific trait
Adogslife · 61-69, M
My wife is much more prone to jealousy than I am.
