How do you signal your partner when you want sex? And feel offended when turned down?

Both Cowboy and I have a very high sex drive we both initiate a lot and I’ve only been turned completely down once because I was too drunk to give proper consent
That being said if one of us are busy we have no issue taking care of it ourselves…

During most of our married life, we had sex on a regular schedule, so no hints were needed. Occasionally, one of us had a special need.
