How do you signal your partner when you want sex? And feel offended when turned down?

I think both genders are different. Men are always vocal and or direct but most women are indirect and rarely initiate or advance is that true? And i think the reason they dont is the fear of rejection, is that true?

During most of our married life, we had sex on a regular schedule, so no hints were needed. Occasionally, one of us had a special need. If my wife came home horny after a night out with friends, she would strip naked and climb in bed or sit on my lap. If I was the one with the special need, I asked, "You wanna fool around?" I don't recall either of us ever refusing sex.

Would that more relationships were that way. Might improve the divorce rate.

@BrandNewMan Or maybe I just don't remember her saying, "Go away." My memory isn't as good as it used to be.
