Have you ever been able to ask a ex for feedback?

I'm not talking about the immature partners that attack you.

But can offer genuine constructive feedback on why things didn't work out?

One of my wife's exes from college did contact her later and asked if he could have done anything different to keep her from dumping her. The answer was "no." I think she gave a longer explanation.

No i don't have many exes, i've lost respect for them so i keep my distance. I know why things didn't work out so i don't need their feedback on it.

@AngelUnforgiven I hear you.

I think back on previous relationships and I think I was desperate.

I just wanted someone. I wanted to feel complete by having a partner, but I never really met guys who saw me for who I truly was. They saw the fun time, party girl, happy go lucky. So they treated me as a temporary.

I was young.
I know my last ex wouldn’t be capable of this. And maybe not my high school one.

But the one on on my early 20’s probably could.

Yes, I mean generally I've known the reasons why but I have had in-depth conversations about it before.

Me and my ex have a very, very odd relationship. Yes I could ask him anything and he would be honest

I have never been able to, but I have been able to for my partners.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@FoxyQueen were you mostly the person ending the relationships?
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@Mellowgirl Not always. I was a people pleaser for a long part of my life, so I would often check in with my partner to see if there was anything I had done or said that I hadn't been aware of the impact. I ended up keeping that because it just seemed helpful for me.

Usually, ex's have come back and asked me about my decisions and that. I tend to remain friends with most of my ex's. I'm just lucky that way.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@FoxyQueen thank you for explaining. I appreciate that.

I have often wanted to maintain friendships with some but wasn't able to. Except for 1.

He's now one of my closest friends.
Moved on with a family of his own too.

Strange concept. I doubt I would seriously consider it, considering the source(exes in general).
Chiefjustice · 46-50, M
No, my last one loved personal attacks.

@PatientlyWaiting25 I hear you. Some of my relationships were like that.
