I see lots of people posting about giving up on dating and throwing shade at the opposite sex. Frankly I’m convinced people don’t try hard enough.

I'm pan so I don't have any issues with genders.

I'm also 40 and my son is to an age he needs a lot of support. I can't be in a relationship right now unless it they want to love both of us. I'm not going to live separate lives because people don't want to deal with my child.

It's a little more complicated than simply putting in the work. I'm putting my effort into being a parent.

What you say rings true, but it makes me even more afraid to try to date. I don’t even know what I want, let alone what I might bring to the table. And I probably can’t bring much to the table, as I just found out last year that I’m on the autism spectrum and I haven’t really learned how to take care of myself in some ways yet. Which is incredibly frustrating because I’m 37 and never been in a romantic relationship before. It just seems like love is this special exciting thing that makes life seem worthwhile that everyone but me gets to experience at least once in their lives for a little while.

I’m in a relationship now and my gf asks me if I want to call when I get home and sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t and she wants me to go to church with her more and some Sundays I have things planned I’m worried she might do the same things my ex did or said. My ex got upset with me telling her I’m letting her down by not calling her, she punched her self in the eye because she wanted to call and I said depends on how tired I am and how late I get home from work. I told her before I don’t want to call every night. She gets upset with me when I don’t come over because I’m sick , get called into work on a Saturday, phone won’t charge (charging port is broke so I had to get wireless charger) she got mad when I tried to tell her what she says is bothering me

You can never fully plan the journey of a relationship……you can only prepare for it. What matters is having enough love to embrace and tolerate each other’s flaws, and the emotional maturity to do so with grace.

It’s not always about trying harder; sometimes, the more you force something, the more it breaks. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make the effort….it just means you need the wisdom to see whether it’s truly worth

Guys aren't dating because the divorce courts are against them. Men going their own way is a movement that has been getting traction. Just about 63% of guys aren't dating for many factors, promiscuity views have change many of the younger generations don't like 304's. Women like money, man like beauty. Men ain't dating until the divorce courts change and at the end of the day is a battle of the sexes.

Agreed. People are self centred. If it won’t come to them it doesn’t happen.
