It just took an embarrassing amount of time to change the display settings on my car.

I had gotten an oil change, and I don't know what they did, but it was all messed up. So, it took forever to figure out how to get the temperature outside, the compass, the time, back on my display. Because, you know what? These are things I need to know to get through my day.

I've lost all faith in any of local shops to do something as simple as an oil change. Did parents and nieces myself last time, on all four, the shop (and different shops too) all put oil plug back in with impact wrench (torque spec is 10ft/lb, not 150lb...); had to replace plugs and re-tap threads

on top of that, that managed to get oil & grease all over the place (guess they've never heard of a funnel or shop rags)...

Same thing happened to me, they reset the oil life but didn’t reset it back to my settings. I watch the MPG and transmission temperature while towing the RV. At least the owners manual was written for digital illiterate s.
@SageWanderer i should have gotten mine out. Would have been less aggravating

@Bexsy Maybe not, the manual in my car is Greek to me.

@SageWanderer Ίσως όχι, το εγχειρίδιο στο αυτοκίνητό μου είναι στα ελληνικά για μένα.

These things think they are way too smart for my own good. The other day, the vehicle said that i needed to check the engine, the ABS and traction control were faulty, all the driver assist stuff was out, the nav system was dead and the oil desperately needed changing.

The actual problem after a text to my friend in the service department? Loose gas cap. I kid you not.
FrozenWasteland · 61-69, M
@Bexsy i get that a loose gas cap (or a cracked hose) will cause an evap emission warning --usually the check engine light. But why it lights up pretty much every other symbol on the dashboard is beyond me.
@FrozenWasteland thats what it was! Emission thingy
Thank you
FrozenWasteland · 61-69, M
@Bexsy darned emissions thingies --always causing trouble. 🤪

Captainjackass · 31-35, M
What kind of car has a compass.
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
@Bexsy why do you need to know what direction your going?
@Captainjackass because.

I. JUST. DO
Captainjackass · 31-35, M
@Bexsy okay whatever you say.
2ndtimeguy · 61-69, M
At least the right time and temperature
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
Some cars displays are more complicated than phones nowadays.
@Cigarguy there's no need for all that..screen technology.
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
@Bexsy nope I just need the basics and nothing else. I don't need my car to read me my emails I get in my car to get away from them LOL
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
It is called google or owners manual. 🤣
@JackDaniels i ain't got time for that.

Ok..it would've been quicker.

😶 shush
