My decision making process regarding social and economic issues.

I don't think people understand that when I support issues, I generally support certain things because of research and my own observations/experiences. I also weigh the benefits and risk of an outcome and if the benefits outweigh the risk, I'll support it.

I actually make decisions that way that are non political too.

It's others who decide that things are left or right but if the things that I mostly support are leftist, then so be it.

You should never apologize or change the way you you do things, make decisions, who you support or don't support, whether its political or not. You are your own person and yes you should always do your own research, never just take others words for anything, and in the end you make the final decision....

I still boggle at people that don't do this.

@Dolimyte Most don't

@Dolimyte It's because they don't want to think too hard. And that's not saying they're not necessarily intelligent, although a lot of them aren't. It's mostly laziness. These people do not want to exert any energy thinking about what's best for them, so they are content to be told. That's why, when you try to tell people they don't want a president who's going to gut Social Security, and they don't want Kennedy in charge of the pharmacies, they look at you as if you've grown a second head and spout the same old "But Brawndo's got what plants crave" BS.

Reality has a clear leftwing bias. 👍🏻

@Burnley123 Lol it seems so

@Burnley123 A lot of the things that we support as leftists are just common sense for me.

In the places where I have worked there are always a few people who stay behind after the close of each day to sort out things that everyone else has overlooked. Boring and mundane stuff that carries no great prestige or material reward for the individual, but which would make our workplace and society much less pleasant and easy for all if it wasn't done. That is how I decide what has real value and is worth doing.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
That's generally how I've arrived at my positions. I consider myself a leftist because most of my positions fall there. I've never looked at a list of positions I should hold as X. It's also why the bucket I fit into has evolved over time. I have changed positions based on new information.

What the heck is wrong with you, supporting things that don't result in you living in an untenable situation? You're supposed to listen to what your political leaders tell you that you want, and vote against your own best interests. 😆
